The classroom contains 22 students from grades 6th to 7th, with diverse backgrounds. The lesson objective is for students to understand ghettos and concentration camps with 95% accuracy. Materials used include a Smart Board, Voki, YouTube videos, a WebQuest, student blogging, and a podcast. The mainly student-centered lesson starts with an overview before using multimedia to explain camps. Students then complete the WebQuest and write diary entries on their blogs. The class finishes with a reading, and the teacher assesses learning through the entries and materials effectiveness.

Analyze the learner
The classroom contains 22 students. The gender makeup of the class is 12 boys and 10 girls.
The ages of the students range from 11 to 12 years old in the 6th grade. The class is somewhat
racial diverse. In class, there are 6 African Americans students, 3 Native American students, and
13 Caucasian students. The religious background of the class is made up of some from
Christianity or Agnostic. Students in this class learn through hands on and visual learning.
State Objective
Each student will understand ghettos and concentration camps, the purpose of them, and daily
life of those in the camps through the use lecture, class readings, and multimedias. The
students will do this with a 95% accuracy by the end of the day.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials
Smart Board: The teacher will use the Smart Board when presenting the materials
Voki: The teacher will use Voki to demonstrate life in the camps
YouTube: The Teacher will use YouTube to explain different locations diaries were kept
WebQuest: The teacher will use WebQuest to show the usage of diaries in camps
Blogger: The students will use Blogger to blog his or her daily diary entry
Podcast: The teacher will use Podcast to assist in class reading
Computers: Students will use class computers to assess WebQuest and Blogger
Utilize Media and Materials
The lesson will be mainly student centered. The teacher will start the lesson by giving a brief
example of what the ghetto and concentration camps were. The teacher will then show the
Voki discussing life in the concentration camps for children. From there, the teacher will use the
YouTube video created to educate about the different places diaries where written and the
daily life of those writing them. Next the students will work on the WebQuest about Anne
Frank. The students will use Blogger in addition to the WeQuest to write the diary entries
2. required by the WebQuest. The class will finish the day with class reading of the Diary of Anne
Frank with the assistance of Podcast.
Require Learner Participation
The students will participate in fun technologies that give the lecture. Each student will
complete the WebQuest and diary entries. Students will also participate in the class reading.
Evaluate and Revise
The teacher will assess the students’ knowledge of the material through the diary entries. The
teacher will also walk around during the time the students are working on the WebQuest and
blogs, asking questions. The teacher will assess the effectiveness of the materials and media
used and make appropriate changes for future instructions.
