• At the beginning of the episode you are able to hear music as it introduces the programme. There is
also a silence at the start of the programme after the boy has been shouted at by his mother, and this
builds an awkwardness in the TV show, also there is a use of dialogue from 1:08 when the family are in
a van and they are talking to each other about food, also throughout the programme the characters talk
to each other a lot which counts as dialogue. There is also noise at the start of the show when there is
a lot of shouting in a night club, it makes it obvious where that they are in a club. Throughout the
programme there are a lot of voiceovers in first person, as the narrator is talking about his childhood.
In addition, incidental music is used a lot, when flashbacks occur.
3. Capital Xtra
• On this radio station it involves phone-ins and people talk to each other and compete for a few prizes.
Music is also played as people listen to it as it entertains them. Effect noises are also used as some may
make people laugh, such as clown horns. Sometimes an music artist may be talking on the station, and
interviews come up as people will ask them questions and he will be giving some answers. On this
radio station there are announcements when they inform the audience what song is going to play next.
When the questions and answers come up, it counts as dialogue between the radio host and the
participant. As the radio station plays a lot of music, there is hardly any silence, the majority of time
there is noise.
