Question 3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
GMG would be an ideal publisher for my magazine because they have experience in dealing with music magazines with similar genre to R&B such as Pop, and Jazz. GMG is also a convergence company which basically means that they use different types of media to promote products. They also have subsidiaries for example GMG radio, Real and Jazz FM. In addition GMG also has a link with The Guardian and The Observer, which means that they can promote products through those newspapers as well.
Bauer Media Another media institution I considered was “Bauer Media” this is because Bauer Media is one of the largest publisher of magazines although it doesn’t only work in the field of magazines it also has “Bauer Radio” and 50% stake “Box Television”. Bauer Media operates globally in 15 different countries which means they can promote my magazine in different countries, which leads to expansion of the number of people in my target audience. Another reason is that Bauer Media was founded in 1875 and is currently operating, this shows how much experience they have in dealing with distributing magazines. They know the taste of the audience, and they know where to find the type of audience the editors need.
