3. Emap is a British media company who execute very well and specialize in business-to-
business magazines such as Nursing Times, Retail Week, Screen
International, Architects Journal, Government Chronicles & many more
There set of magazines are very niche and in terms of there audience much more high
in the hierarchy system when it comes to wealth, power & status which probably
helps Emap an advantage as the magazines they create aren’t a normal magazine
you'll find in a newsagent.
Emap profited from selling parts of there company to other companies for example in
1996 when they agreed to sell 65 newspaper titles including a 300 year old company
‘Stamford Mercury’ to Johnston Press for £111 million. In 2007 when Emap
completed the disposal of there Australian consumer magazine division, Emap.
They release a creative magazine called the ‘Shots’ which targets just the media
sector which shows just how powerful this company is releasing inside and exclusive
information of what going on with the media sector.
4. Bauer Media is a massive Germany company located in Hamburg having globalized there

radio stations, National Broadcast, Ticketing & Charities demonstrating a strong synergy with
various amounts of companies with Bauer Media.
5. To be frank my magazine doesn’t fit into any of the three media
intuitions but if they created a space in which my magazine would fit
into, I would have to pick Bauer Media.
The reason I choose to pick this company is because the stats says it
all, they operate in 15 countries which basically means there a major
monopoly within the world of media. This can help to push my
magazine to greater heights achieving a world wide audience to my
magazine.
This company is always finding new and intriguing ways to expand
which shows me a positive sign that, whatever media products is own
by this company excels to it’s highest potential, as Beuer is trying to
achieve global culture.
