The document discusses the various technologies the student learned while creating a film opening for a media course, including blogs, cameras, and editing software. For blogs, the student learned to use Blogger to upload and organize coursework. For cameras, the student gained experience using a Hitachi camera, including attaching it to a tripod and adjusting settings. For editing software, challenges included importing videos at a resolution the software could handle and learning the software interface. The student also uploaded drafts and the final film to YouTube to share online.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. • Throughout making my film opening I have
learnt lots about different technologies. These
include things like cameras, editing software,
blogs and presentations. This was the first
time that I had ever tried to use any of these
technologies. So in the beginning there was
lots of learning involved.
3. Blogs
• One of the first technologies that I had to
learn how to use was blogger. This is where all
of my coursework is done. It is the main blog
site and is owned by Google. Previous to
starting this course I had never used blogger
before. However I found doing by coursework
on it enjoyable. It allowed me to upload each
individual piece of work and organise them all
together. It also allowed be to personalise my
work. I now feel confident in creating new
blogs well.
4. Camera
• The camera that we used for my media
coursework was a HITACHI D36FT HD this was
the first time that I had ever used a camera
and it took lots of getting used to. I
encountered many problems whilst beginning
to film. This including having to turn down the
resolution on the camera so the footage could
be uploaded, working out how to attach the
camera to the tripod and working out how
parts of the camera worked such as the zoom
button.
5. This is an image of
the camera i used
during filming.. It
was good because it
was lightweight and
easy to transport
whilst filming in
different locations
As well as producing
a high quality
picture.
6. Editing Software
• Editing was something else I had never
attempted to do prier to this course. This
allowed us to put my video together and add
in effects and transitions. At first I uncounted
some problems with the editing. This included
having difficulty getting the video on to the
editing suit due to it being to high a
resolution. And having to find out how the
editing software worked
7. Edits we made to our video
• Firstly we cut down all of the clips so that they
would fit to under two minutes
• We then added a dip to black transitions as we
thought this flowed well within our video
• We then added a black and white effect to our
video. As we believed that this went well with
the theme and feel of the film.
• Finally we used the editing to add the sound
we recorded and had
8. • We had one major problem with the editing
software when all of our files became
encrypted and we found that all our work had
been lost. This meant that we had to re
upload everything and start the editing again.
We later found that the problem that was
causing this, was because our video clips were
set in HD and the software did not have the
memory capacity to deal with it. Once we
converted the videos to a lower resolution we
found we no longer had this problem.
9. YouTube
• We used YouTube to upload our film to.
YouTube is a piece of media that I had used
before to view videos on but never to upload
them. Through this course I have learnt how
to upload videos to YouTube as we have
uploaded the prelim and various drafts of our
final film. I have also learned how to embed
videos from YouTube to enable me to but
them on my blog. YouTube also allows me to
be able to see my video whenever I want.
