1. Evaluation Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. Final Cut Express
Pros
Had many helpful
features to apply to
our film, such as
edits, text and
transitions.
Cons
It was quite hard to get
to grips with at first.
Rendering took a lot of
time, and didn’t always
apply the changes we
had made.
I have learnt how to put together different film clips, use editing, to
add text and colour edits onto our sequence, and how to incorporate
Garageband into our final piece.
3. Mac Computer
Pros
Easy to use after
practice.
Already had Final
Cut Express and
Garage band.
Fast internet and
loading times.
Cons
When saving
something it can only
save to that specific
mac. It would have
been easier if it
could save to an
account so that we
could have used
various Macs.
I have learnt how toused different applications on the mac , such as
Final Cut Express, Garageband and Blogger. Without the Mac I would
have been unable to complete my final piece.
4. Garageband
Pros
Had a good library of
sound.
Helped us create our
own sound for our
opening sequence.
Helped give a
professional touch to
our opening
sequence.
Cons
Hard to get to
grips with at first.
Difficult at first to
transfer into Final
Cut Express.
I have learnt how to put together different music clips, edit the pitch
and length of a clip and add text and how to add to our opening
sequence and how to incorporate our Garageband piece into Final Cut
Express.
5. Blogger
Pros
Easy to use.
A great log of who and
when work was
created.
Easily accessible on
both Macs and PCs.
Professionally displays
all of our work.
Cons
Hard to start off with
as we had to learn how
to use and embed our
work onto our blog.
I have learnt how to use blogger, embed slideshows, documents and
videos into our blog, and I have learnt how to document my steps
throughout the making of our final piece.
6. You Tube
Pros
Easy to use
Makes our film able
to watch wherever
we are
Cons
Didn’t always
allow videos to
upload
Quite time
consuming whilst
the film uploaded
I have learnt how to upload different film clips onto Youtube and how
to embed these clips onto our blog
7. Film Camera
Pros
Easy to get to grips
with.
Had good features
such as the flash
and focus, which
helped with the
professionalism of
our piece.
Cons
The battery life wore
out quite quickly,
meaning it either had to
charge for a while or
wed have to stop
filming to swap battery
packs.
I have learnt how to use a film camera, including features such as flash,
photo camera, film camera and playback.
8. Prezi
Pros
Easy to use.
Easy to embed onto
blog.
Wide range of
layouts, styles and
text types.
Cons
Can get confusing
when wanting to
edit the path or
create extra
sections.
I have learnt how to use Prezi , embed it into my blog and use it as an
interesting device to represent my work in.
9. Slideshare
Pros
Allowed us all to
embed our work
onto our blog.
Gave an extra place
to save work to.
Cons
At first it was hard to
get to grips with.
I have learnt how to use slideshare and embed my work onto it so that
it is easy to use and represent my work on my blog.
10. Overall I have learnt how to create a film, with use of editing on Final
cut express, I’ve also learnt how to upload this to You Tube, and embed
it onto my blog.
I’ve learnt how to use garageband to create a soundtrack to match our
opening sequence in final cut express.
Finally I have learnt about Mac Computers, so that I can put all these
skills into place.
