DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• In conjunction with supervisor plans preventive maintenance
then inspects equipment, performs maintenance routines,
Diagnoses problems, determines corrective work required
and performs or directs work within assigned authority.
Performs daily maintenance, adjustment, repair and
commissioning of all types of process, mechanical and
rotating equipment including process equipment, marine
equipment, living quarters equipment and life-saving
equipment. Such as lifeboats, fire water pumps and fire
fighting equipment, life sustaining equipment i.e. water-
makers, HVAC, dual fuel turbine driven electrical power
generators and pumps also including major production and
support facilities i.e. gas generators, gas and air
compressors, pressure vessels, oil pumps, water injection
pumps, valves and associated process equipment, HPU”s
and hydraulic system etc,. marine equipment such as
cranes, moorings, FPSO turret assembly and to shuttle
tanker export pumps. Typical activities include general
maintenance (checking oil levels, greasing, filter element
changeout etc), equipment strip down, replacing bushing
and bearings, valve trim replacement, pump rotor
replacement, fan replacement, hydraulic system component
replacement, crankshaft replacement, aligning drivers with
driven equipment, process pipework repair replacement, etc.
• Performs detailed analysis of engines, turbines, gearboxes,
pumps, etc. using state of the art vibration monitoring and
data gathering techniques (analysis by 3rd
party) to predict
failure.
• On HPU’s failure, diagnose failure and prescribes or
performs repair as required to return to service.
• Diagnose/repair hydraulic failure of crane hydraulic control
system such as hydraulic control valve, hydraulic pump etc.
• Replaced hydraulic cylinder repair kit.
• Replaced hydraulic hoses.
• On equipment failure, diagnoses failure and prescribes or
performs repairs as required to return equipment to service.
Reviews diagnosis with supervisor when equipment
problems are complex or may lead to extended downtime or
high costs. Makes decision applying knowledge of
equipment, materials and trade practices.
• Ensures that an adequate supply of mechanical supplies,
consumables and spare parts are on hand to support the
maintenance activities.
• Serves when assigned as the mechanical
supervisors/inspector for repairs and major overhauls
perform on equipment by contact service personnel
• Observes company safety procedures and practices good
housekeeping. Report or corrects unsafe conditions or
practices. Ensures that maintenance work is perform in an
efficient, safe and economical manner.
• Trains or assist in the training of junior technicians or newly
assigned personnel to the FPSO.
