2. ONLINE CALCULATOR RESULTS….
Online calculator results show that I have truly
done a great job of keeping my brand at a
certain level but there is a lot more room for
improvement. Searching my Dj name/company
will pull up a lot of results showing videos, live
events, and even my social media information.
My score for my volume and relevance was titled
“ Digitally Distinct” Check out the results !!!!

4. ONLINE CALCULATOR RESULTS CONT’D…
Overall, I have been working on my brand and
following things about myself for a few years
now so I am not surprised at my results. I worked
with a PR to help me develop my goals on where
I wanted to go in the music industry. I am like
the questions and feel like it was a good point to
have us research ourselves as if we were on the
other side. It’s good to look through your
searches to keep up with the good and anything
that pops up that would could potentially hurt
your brand.
5. HOODSUITE DASHBOARD
Because I found out how much more I could do
with hoodsuite then when I started up years ago.
I added a few things that I can watch daily on my
three big promoting social media accounts. I
watch my mentions, tweets, retweets, and new
follows on my twitter account. I can say that
since I added just this small tweak, I have had
about 20 new followers within the last week.
6. USING HOODSUITE FOR IG PROMO
I now use hoodsuite on IG and twitter to send out my
promos when I have an event coming up. It helps
tremendously that I no longer have to keep posting things on
my own. I watch my mentions and follows which are really
important to me on IG. I am not really big on following
people so I am trying to figure that out. I used important
hashtags to flag such as #Femaledjs and #HipHop to see who
uses the tags and the traffic they get. I am still looking into
other hashtags and bloggers that I can even follow to get
more media attention. Overall I feel like I am off a really good
push to make a lot more people aware that I actually exist.
I keep track of my tag name as well to see how much it’s
being used, who knows my tag name as a dj, and when
searching using my tag name, how many of my pictures show
vs who is also using the tag. One of my biggest names as a Dj
on social media is #QueenOfMyCityOnTheTables and
#ThePartyAssassin. I am happy to say that my dj pictures
have been popular which could be why I started gaining
random followers when I added that tag name.
7. USING HOODSUITE CONT’D…
My main tags that I use to allow clients, viewers,
and fans to follow me are the following:
#DjLadyM
#ThePartyAssassin
#QueenOfTheCityOnTheTables
I used specific tags that describe me not only as a
dj, but also what I have been nicknamed since I
became popular. My tag names run on flyers and
when I am in pictures at events. I am a queen
running my city on the turntables and I embrace
that crown well. Take a look on Twitter/Ig and
check out my hits @djldymysterious. My page is
open to the public for all viewers.
8. GOOGLE ALERTS….
My google alerts are broken down by the
way I think. Marketing tips is what I look for
in general for my business. So I added this
alert to help me keep up with new
marketing tips. I may switch this alert up if I
don’t see anything that I need to use that
would help build my brand but so far, I
seem to be on track when I read the alerts
coming through.
9. GOOGLE ALERTS CONT’D….
Dj alerts show me up and coming workshops,
Djs in the industry talking about how they made
it or how long it took before they made. Those
readings inspire me to not give up and keep
pushing to make a name for myself.
10. GOOGLE ALERTS CONT’D
Beyonce might seem strange to you, but for me
she is a marketing genius so have been following
her strategies for about 3years now. The alerts all
though they may not look to help in any way but
just think about how much attention she gets
from so many bloggers, that is ALL MARKETING.
So I look at what new trends she is starting and
it helps me develop my own to separate myself
from other female djs in the industry.
11. FEEDLY..
My Rss feed is extremely similar to my google
alerts. I don’t seem to have much interest in my
feed and I have changed it a couple of times. I still
glance at certain articles that come out about the
new equipment that’s emerging for djs in the
industry. I read an article that spoke on skills one
would need to an Entertainment job. The article
was insightful on personality, what you should
know about the do’s and the don’ts for the hiring
process, and what to look for when searching for a
particular just on the entertainment industry. I look
into fashion just because it’s on of my hobbies and
dressing is something I love to do.
I received the following alert and read a great
article. See below:

why-you-need-mixing-power-skills-today-2/
12. FEEDLY CONT’D…
Lastly, my feed gives tips on building a resume. I
never thought in my industry as a dj that I
needed one. I guess outside of a press kit, clients
still wants to know how you grew and who one
has worked with. I also learn about skill sets,
qualities, and how to maintain your sanity while
being on tour. Those will assist with developing
structure as a work towards goals of working
around the world.
A good article to view for newbies coming to the
industry:

13. In closing, I would like to point out the main things I learned
but adding hood suite, google alerts, and rss feed :
• Progression: I am progressing well in the direction I wanted
to with building my brand. It’s important to know what
people see when they google your name and to understand
where you need to improve to become better.
• Good tips: The rss feed gives good tips in the dj world that I
never really looked up to see if they exist. Even down to the
do’s and don’ts to being on tour is a major thing for me. I
know many people but I am quiet and never ask about their
experience. Reading a few articles made me want to branch
out more and ask those that I know if what I read if really
real.
• The good side to following celebrities: I realized that
watching the way your favorite artist moves, promotes, and
even has the their brand being pushed is a great way to
inspire you to work on your own movement in marketing. I
was never big on watching celebrities because I thought that
was just me being nosey… and although I am, it inspires me
to watch moves being made and how the fans react to them.
I am looking into how to make my own business more
impactful then the next dj because there is always
