2. Why The British Did It
The stamp act was passed by the
british government on march 11
1765. Ship’s paper, legal
documents, licenses, newspaper,
other papers and playing cards
were all taxed. They did it because
they wanted the Americans to help
pay for the British Troops who
helped them win the war between
British American colonies and the
French.
3. What The Act Did
The act taxed Colonists on ships papers, legal documents, licenses, other printed
papers, and publications, and even playing cards and dice.
4. Why The Americans Did Not Like It
The Americans colonists were mad
because they thought that the british
parliament should not have the right
to tax them. They believed that only
the American Government should
have the right to tax them.
5. What The Americans Did About It
American colonists were mad because they
thought the British Parliament shouldn't have the
right to tax them. They believed that only the
American Government should have the right to
tax them. Because of this, a group of Americans
came together in a group called the Sons of
Liberty. They worked together to convince other
Americans to stop buying stamps and paper.
They even forced sailors to bring those kinds of
products back to England. Finally, before the Act
was final and before British could rule America,
the act was ended.
