The majority of people who took part in
answering my survey said that the main
image is what attracts them to a
magazine. As a result of this I will be
focusing on having a good main image on
the front cover above other things.

survey. Therefore I may include

From these results I will price my
magazine at around £3 or £4 as
out of the answers I received
from my survey, £4 and £3 were
the most common answers for
this question. Also after my
research I found that most music
magazines are sold around this
price.
6. What is your perfect size issue?
I received a wide range of answers for this
question, between 80-150. I have decided to
choose an issue size at around 120 pages as the
majority of my answers were around this
number.
7. What colours do you associate with
the indie genre?
Red, blue and yellow were the most common
answers I received. Therefore I will be using
these colours throughout my magazine as they
are associated with the genre of my magazine.
8. What words do you associate with the
indie genre?
‘Independence’, ‘Fun’, ‘music’ and ‘smooth’
were the most common words that came up
when people were asked what words do they
associate with the indie genre. As a result of this
these words will be used in my magazine.

• Over half of my survey audience said that they
would be interested in hearing about
upcoming artists therefore I will be producing
an article in my magazine containing
information about upcoming artists.
11. What features do you like about any
music magazine you read?
• Interviews, reviews and information about the
charts were very popular with my survey
audience. As a result of this I will focus on
producing these articles.
12. What features do you dislike about any
of the magazines you read?
• Too many cover lines and messy front covers
were the most common answers I received for
this question.
• I will focus on keeping my main image clear on
the front cover and not creating too many
covrlines.

• 75% of the audience preferred interviews with
just one artist. As a result of this I will mainly
focus on one artist in my interviews.

• A lot of people who took part in my survey
want to read about their favourite bands and
new artists in the indie genre.
• Therefore I will be producing articles on new
artists and their favourite artists in the indie
genre.
17. Do you find gig guides and news about
festival dates useful?
• The majority of people who took part in the
survey answered yes for this question.
Therefore I will be creating an article on this
type of content in my magazine.
18. Do free posters and other giveaways
attract you to a magazine?
• The majority of my audience also answered
yes for this question. As a result I will be
including a free giveaway in my magazine.
