2. What is a logo?
Logos serve to represent a given
organization or company through a visual
image that can be easily understood and
recognized. A logo generally involves
symbols, stylized text or both.
3. Introduction to my
analysis
✤ All companies in general involving film
production companies have a logo for their
brand to be recognized by. A logo doesn’t
necessarily have to be an image, instead it
can be just the company’s name such as
“Focus Features” for example. This
company doesn’t have a specific image to
be used as their logo but their company’s
name is a logo within itself; unlike “Warner
Brothers” which has an acronym-“WB”
representing their company.
4. Film Production
Company Logo Analysis
✤ “Dream Works” is an American animation studio that
produces animated films and television programs
and is a subsidiary of “Universal Pictures”.
✤ Dream Works’ logo consists of a young boy who
could possibly be ‘dream catching’-hence the fishing
stick and name. He does this while sitting on a moon
which people usually associate with
dreams,hopes,desires,wishes…
✤ The young boy could be a symbol of a ‘small guy
with big dreams’.
5. ✤ “Universal Pictures” is an American film
production and distribution company.
✤ Universal’s logo is planet earth with a big
“UNIVERSAL” over it. The word
‘Universal’ means that something that is
universal affects or relates to every part of
the world or the universe. It is done by all
people in the world. This could mean that
the company intended or had high hopes
for the it to become literally universal and
be seen and talked about by everyone.
6. ✤ “Magnolia Pictures” is an American film
distribution and production company.
✤ It’s logo seems to have a type writer style font
to it making it seem potentially rustic or aged
which is ironic since it was made in 2001.
✤ The most interesting part of their logo would
be the fact that they’re using a film tape with
a flower on it- a magnolia. This fulfills two
purposes- the inclusion of the flower
magnolia, and something related to actual
film making hence the tape.
7. OUR FILM
PRODUCTION
COMPANY LOGO
After careful analysis of other famous and some not so famous film
production company analysis we’ve done, we decided to take our time and
work with a lot of different designs to create our perfect company logo.
We have created over 8 potential logo designs in hopes to find the best
possible solution for our brand.
Our logo consists of the acronyms of our two names combined. Anastasija
and Matija - making it “AM”
We wanted to incorporate the fact that “AM” sounds a lot like 06:00am for
example. We tried using that in our designs with an alarm clock or a rooster
referring to the fact that ‘am’ represents the early morning hours.
