2. A production logo is a logo used by film
studios and television production
companies to brand what they produce.
Production logos are usually seen at the
beginning of a theatrical movie or video
game (an "opening logo"), or at the end
of a television program or TV movie (a
"closing logo"). They are always
included in film trailers to give the
audience a suggestion of what the film
could be like based on past productions.
Many production logos have become
famous over the years, such as the 20th
Century Fox's monument and
searchlights, Paramount Pictures'
mountain, Universal Studio's spinning
globe, Columbia Pictures's
personification of Columbia, MGM's Leo
the Lion, and Walt Disney Pictures'
fantasy castle. Unlike logos for most
other media, production logos can take
advantage of motion and synchronized
sound, and almost always do.
3. I like both of these simple production logos. I like the simplicity of the colour scheme (mainly
just black and white). Also I like the thin white font, it stands out and is easy to read. Both of
these logos incorporate the colour blue just to add something else to the logo making it
appear less boring. I also love the idea of using ‘film’ instead of ‘productions’ like Strada.
4. I like this logo because of the
illustration, it gives a kind of
vintage feel and the colours
used are striking yet simple so
the image sticks in your mind
which is a important
specification that my logo
needs to have in order for the
film to attract a large audience
and create a large revenue.
I like the distressed
effect used on this
logo however I think
that this logo would
suit films made that
fit the
action/thriller/horror
genre rather than my
romance/drama
genre.
I think this logo is
interesting as the title
‘blooming’ cleverly fits
the design of the film
roll shaped into a
flower. Clever
techniques and ideas
like this are the types
of thing that the
audience are likely to
remember.
5. I have started to look at films with a similar genre and feel to the trailer I wish to
create, and have researched into their production companies so that I have a deeper
understanding of what I need to incorporate in my production logo, name etc.

operating efficiencies.
New Line produced the Oscar Award-winning The
Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
7. Next I have looked into films which target a similar theme/issue such as mental health specifically
degenerative brain disorder as this is what I'm thinking about tackling. I have decided to look at these films
production companies as producing films with these types of topic could affect the design and names of the
companies.
4. Still Alice – Killer Films
