A few years ago I was lucky to hear famous music manager & producer Shep Gordon @supermenschshep speak. He’s known as the “Supermensch” and has a documentary on Netflix of the same name. Shep shared his secret on how he was able to get his new acts known. He would always make sure to arrange his next great act to be photographed next to a start like Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, or Alice Cooper. Shep said, “The fame would wash off onto the person next to the star.” What he meant was that when others saw the photo, they’d assume that the new star was famous, or at least interesting, because they were next to a well known celebrity. Think about how this can be applied to you. Not jumping in and taking a false photo with a celebrity. But rather, who in your world can you associate with…? This is also another variation of you are the sum of the people you associate with. :) Do you think the fame washes off onto others? Let me know in the comments below.
