- The knowledge and skills to the learners so
that they can become exemplary users of
educational technology
5. The course objectives of Educational
Technology
To provide education in the use of
technology in instruction;
To impart learning experiences in
instructional technology supported
instructional planning;
To acquaint students on information
technology;
6. To learn to use and evaluate
computer-based educational
resources;
To engage learners on practical
technology; and
To inculcate higher-level thinking
and creativity among students.
7. This course intends to help our target
learners to wave technology in teaching,
with software (computer programmed
learning materials)becoming a natural
extensions of their learning tools.
8. āThe illiterate of the 21st century will not be those
who cannot read and write, but those who cannot
learn, unlearn, and relearnā
- Alvin Toffler
9. 21st Century learners require activities that
move beyond the traditional teacher-
centered transmission model of education.
When discussing adult education in the 21st
Century it may be better to consider it as an age of
the ārelationship revolutionā, as opposed to the
widely held notion of the āinformation
revolutionā (Schrage, 2001, p. 1)
10. But given the rapid of emergence of
digital technology, at times referred to
as information and communication
technology (ICT), there is the need to
prepare for bridging the digital gap in
the society.
11. This refers to the capacity and creativity in problem
solving students and assess the process and results.

Refers to teamwork with virtual, real partners in
the online environment.

14. Online instructors can use technology tools to create activities
that help students develop both lower-level and higher-level
critical thinking skills
ļ Reflection activities. It provide students with
opportunities to track their learning and
demonstrate their progress throughout the semester.
To enhance the level of critical thinking students do
through reflective activities.
ļ Peer review activities. It enable students to
demonstrate communication skills by giving
feedback on each otherās work, expose students to
alternative perspectives, and allow students to
question what they are reading.
15. ļ Discussion forums. It allow students to
communicate with their peers, answer
questions that require them to demonstrate
both lower-level and higher-level critical
thinking skills, and analyze course content.
ļ Small group activities. It allow students to
communicate, problem solve, hear different
perspectives, and collaborate to analyze and
synthesize course content.
16. COMPUTER LITERACY
ļIt is the ability to use computers and
related technology efficiently, with a range
of skills covering levels from elementary use
to programming and advanced problem
solving.
18. Teacher can imploy computer as an:
ļ Information tool- computer can provide
vasts amount of information in various
forms such as text, graphics, sound and
video.
ļ Constructive tool- the computer itself can be use
for manipulating information, visualizing oneās
understanding, and building new knowledge.
19. ļ Co-constructive Tools- students can use it to work
cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of
new knowledge.
ļ Situating Tool- by means of virtual reality (RS)
extension system, the computer can create 3-D images
on display to give the user the feeling that are situated
in a virtual environment.
20.
21. THE IMPACT;
Average students using technology to learn
can get higher score compared to those who
are not using computers.
Students may use internet for getting the
information that they are needed than using
textbooks
leads to more active and interactive modes
of instruction
results naturally in greater collaboration,
cooperation and small groups
22. WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
In this course Iāve learned a lot of things. Like on how to
use a technology in teaching. Some tips on how to create a
creative power point presentation. The things that I need to do
and avoid while doing it. And also it teaches us to be aware with
the use of different use of computer software including the
Microsoft, power point and micro excel. As a future teacher, I
may used all of what Iāve learned in Educational technology II to
become an effective teacher.
