3. METHOD OF WORKING
• Board and pillar method of working is
employed.
• This method is employed because it is not
a gassy seam, free from dirt bands, it is at
moderate depth.
• Development by SDL and LHD is
commencing
• Depillaring with hydralic sand stowing is
commencing.
4. Face operation
Drilling
Types of drilling machines used in mine:
• Electric coal drilling is used for drilling holes
• Wedge cut pattern is employed
• Diamond drill rod is used
• Eccentric drill bit is used
• Power supply of 125v is supplied from DCP(drill
control panel)
• Supply of 550v is stepped down to 125v in DCP
• 15 holes were drilled and checked with crack
detector by shotfirer
• Then explosives were of p5 type are charged
• Then it is primed and insreted in holes
• Then they are stemmed by clay by using stem
rod
5. Blasting
• Then they are
connected in series

• They are connected to
shotfiring cable
• They are connected to
exploder
• Then they are blasted
6. SUPPORTING:
• The roof supporting is done by roof bolting, roof stiching, cable bolting,
side stiching
• Roof bolting is done by rana roof bolter
• Holes of 1.8m is drilled and resin capsule is inserted in roof bolt is inserted
• Then it is churned for mixing of materials.
• It will become strong.
• Then it ready to recive loads
• Then the roof is checked
• Then it is dressed with the help of buntons
7. Transportation
BY SDL:
• Sdl is used for loading the
broken material into tubs
from the face
• *the input village to the sdl
is 550v and it is a
electrically operated
machine
• The bukect capacity of the
sdl is 1metecube
8. Tub system
• Thetubs loaded by the sdl are transported by using
endless rope haluge system
• The tubs are atached to the rope by using small
man clip
• And also the cam clip is used
• The tubs will unload coal on to the belt at the main
end of the belt conveyor.
9. Belt conveyor
• The belt conveyor receives the
coalfrom tubs and unloaded to the
surface bunker
Coal handling plant
• The coal received from the belt
conveyor is received by tripper
• The tipper will unload the coal into
the crusher(atlas cap co crusher)
• The crusher crushes the coal to
suitable size
• The crushed coal is transported
through conveyor
10. Machinary used
SDL:
• Sdls are 2types 611 and 613 used in our mine
• Sdl is a crawler mounted machine
• It cal negotiate at any graident
• The buket capacity of sdl is 1metet cube(model611)
• And buket capacity of sdl is 1.5 meter cube (model 613)
• Safety devices in sdl are
• Canopy
• Emergency swicth
• Safety pin
• Dead man swicth
• Lights
• Radiator

11. LHD
• Their are 2models used in our
mine they are 812 and 912
• It is a tyre mounted machine
• Buket capacity of 812 is
2meter cube and 912 is 3
meter cube capacity
• The maximum graident of lhd
is 1in 6
12. Haulage system
• Their are 2 types of haulage systems used in our
mine and they are
• Direct rope haulage
• Endless rope haulage
13. Direct rope haulage system
• It is applicable up to 1in 10 graident
• The rope speed is 8-12 km/hr
• The branch road deviation should not more then
40degrees
• Jaw cluch is used to disengage the tubs
• Slip ring induction motor is used
14. Endless rope haulage system
• In this type of haulage the rope runs in only one direction
• The rope speed is 3-7 km/hr
• The gradient is 1in 8
• Small man clip is used to engage and disengage the tubs
• Sqirl cage induction motor is used in this type of haulage
• Friction cluch is used in this type of haulage
15. VENTILATION STOPPINGS
• Ventilation stoppings are of three types:
• Isolation/perparatory stopping
• Temporary stopping
• Permanent stopping
• Isolation stoppings are of 1meter thicknesses
• In degree 1&2 gassymines
• In 3 degree gassy mine isolation stoppings should be explosion proof
• In isolation stoppings in roof floor and side the minimum depth of locking should be

• In sand stone 15cm roof/floor
• In shale 30cm

16. VARIOUS VENTILATION DEVICES
Anemometer
Hygrometer
The anemometer is used for measuring of distance
travelled by air in given time and used where the
velocities are between 60m and 1000m/min
*It consists of small fan having vanes at 40to50degeer to
the direction of air flow through gearing arrangements.
17. Hygrometer
• The hygrometer meter is used for to measure the
humidity in air
• It consist of two thermometers
• One is for to know the wet bulb temperature
• Other is for to know the dry bulb temperature
