Footage
I would own the film
footage as I would

over the film’s creation.
Once completed the
shooting process, actions
will be taken to copyright
our own footage as to
protect its creative use (& if
other creators wish to use
our footage permission
would need to asked as well
as credited within their own
project).
For actors under the age
of 18 will need a
parental consent and
this would be done by
permission slip. A
schedule of
filming/shooting day will
be provided by the
Director (Myself) to the
parents & actors. The

for actors and time of

Information gathered from Short of the Week’s
submission requirements:
https://www.shortoftheweek.com/submit/
Requirements
 Length: Films need to be 40 minutes or less.
We prefer most films siton the shorter end of
that spectrum—the average filmwe feature is
10 minutes. The longer your film(over 15
minutes), the tougher judges we tend to be.
 Premiere Status: No premiere status is
required; however, we give preference to films
that haven’t yet premiered online. So, don’t
waitto submityour film.
 Rights: We require films to have all necessary
rights and releases secured for us to feature
them. Yes, this includes music.
 Free to View: We only selectfilms that arefree
for audiences.
What to Expect
Learn more about why we do submissionstheway we
do, what we look for in a film, and see examples of real
feedback we offer.
What We Look For
We look for great stories that bravenew territory. We
valuegreat characters,interestingnew worlds,and
stories that surpriseus over fancy visual effects, famous
actors,or silly one-linersthatoften feed much of online
videos. So when screeningfilms,we tend to scorethem
based on three attributes:
By Darcy Warwick ProductionPlan – Full Document
 Head—Does itbreak new ground and have us
thinkingabout something in a new way?
 Heart—Does itstir us emotionally?
 Hand—Does itexhibitgreat skill and
craftsmanship?
The best way to understand what we look for is to
watch the short films in our collection. You can get a
good sense of our taste by lookingat what we have
curated in the past.
What We Avoid
We have no hard and fastrules.Every filmis different
and there are always exceptions. In general, though, the
followingtend to not be a good fitfor us:
 Music videos or abstractfilms with no or little
story
 Films driven solely by special effects
 Commercials or purely promotional pieces
(Branded films areokay)
 Timelapse/travel photography videos
 Comedies that rely heavily upon on a single
punchline
 Profiledocumentaries that may be interesting
but lack a strongnarrativearc
