AS MEDIA EVALUATION
2. HOW WELL DID YOU PLAN YOUR
PRODUCTION AND WHAT METHODS
DID YOU USE?
• We were given around 1-2 weeks to plan and think of
ideas for our task. This consisted of coming up with
ideas and a short timeline of our production. After
agreeing with ideas we made a storyboard for visual
assistance. With the storyboard were able to structure
our filming .However we spent most of our time thinking
of ideas reducing our filming and editing time
3. WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR CHOICE OF
THEME?
• For the preliminary task we discussed topics we felt
comfortable demonstrating through a video. My group
being urban black teenagers from London we decided to
do produce something which is based on our stereotype.
Doing something everyone is interested allows the work
together as a group
4. WAS THIS AN EFFECTIVE METHOD?
• Making a storyboard allowed everybody in the group
contribute to the production. Each person agreeing on
the same ideas reduced the amount of time spent
planning and the chances of further doubts in the ideas.
5. HOW WELL DID YOUR PRODUCT MEET
THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL.
• There were many reasons throughout the course of the
production which resulted the group making changes to
the original idea. Due to the time frame given between
school hours it was hard to get the group together to
record or plan. This resulted in simplifying the idea and
using basic editing techniques to reach the deadline.
• The main and previous idea are very similar but there
were change in setting and equipment. Our original idea
was a lot complicated and time consuming involving a
trolley for walking shots and lighting.
6. CAMERA COMPOSITION & MOVEMENT
OF SHOTS
• Camera composition such as close up shot , medium
shot , over the shoulder shot , tracking shot, match on
match and shot reverse shot
• Movements such as panning and tilting shots
7. MISE EN SCENE
• Setting & props
• Hair and Costume
• Facial Expressions and Body Language
• Positioning of characters/objects within the frame
8. DIEGETIC & NON-DIEGETIC SOUND
• Diegetic sound is any sound presented on the film.
Diegetic sound can be either on screen or off screen
depending on whatever its. Eg .Characters voice.
• Non Diegetic sound is sound added after filming such as
background music, sound effects and voice overs.
