2. Critical
Appraisal
• Learned from first use of
dolly shots.
• First real experience with
interviews.
• High responsibility with
legal forms, etc.
• Use of subtle style and
editing for desired effect.
• ∙Working around real people
3. Strengths
and
Weaknesses
Strengths:
Good team dynamic, lots of collaboration.
Support between one another.
Multiple ideas used/considered.
Nice style to the filming location.
Detailed and entertaining interviews.
Generally helpful interviewees.
Weaknesses:
Difficult planning and organisation among staff.
Last minute decisions we had to work around.
Difficulty planning around everyone in the group occasionally.
However, through all the hard work and several step-backs we’ve encountered,
the film ultimately is well done and a product we are proud of.
4. Inspirations
The Archive by Sean Dunne due to it’s subject matter and shots
used, such at tracking and establishing shots.
New Music Cities by JoseGonzalez because of it’s poetic form and
the cut away images are very well shot, also music is used
throughout and goes well with the images on screen, which is
something we also wanted to do.
Skateistan:To Live and Skate Kabul by OrlandoVon Einsiedel
because of the poetic form again, we wanted to do a mix between
poetic and traditional and the use of just voice and cutaways over
the top within this documentary is what inspired us.
