3. What is an ICT system
The systems are those where output from the system
goes directly to a human being or into another ICT
system.
Why do organizations use ICT systems?
They meet particular organizational needs, most modern
organizations use ICT systems to help fulfill their goals
but the exact nature of the ICT system will depend on
what those goals are.
It is commonplace for many organizations to use ICT
systems to produce information that would traditionally
have been produced by paper-based systems. This might
include receipts, invoices, sales, reports and wage slips.
Other ICT systems have been created for situations
which would have been impossible without the
processing speed of modern computers.25/11/2015

6. ICT Systems
An ICT system is focused on managing data and
information. Examples of these are a sports
club membership system or a supermarket stock
system.

7. Inputs, Process and Outputs
What comes out of an ICT system is largely dependant
on what you put into the system to begin with.
ICT systems work by taking inputs (instructions and
data), processing them and producing outputs that are
stored or communicated in some way. The higher the
quality and better thought-out the inputs, the more
useful the outputs.
Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO)
ICT systems cannot function properly if the inputs are
inaccurate or faulty; they will either not be able to
process the data at all, or will output data which is
erroneous or useless.

8. So basically..
Data is entered via an input device, such as a
keyboard.
Calculations, queries and other operations are
performed on the data in the processing stage
The results of the processing are sent to an
output device such as a monitor
