2. Potential Problems With The Idea
• With the destination where the projects research is based on is many
miles away from where I'm currently working so all the learning I can
do about the area is through the internet and other peoples opinions
on it no first hand research can be conducted as I don’t have access to
Tombstone itself.
• The location isn't a massive issue however it is easily solvable due to
how easy it is to access the internet and all the somewhat vital
information about the area itself and what I would have to learn
through the research process itself.
3. Potential Problems During Pre-Production
• Potential problems with pre production could be the planning aspect the various PowerPoints to
begin the piece could present their own issues should I not get a good enough or correct schedule
sorted as early as possible and follow that as well as I possibly can that will be my main goal
during pre production to be able to get al the pre production work done as earlier and as
effectively as possible so that I'm not disrupting my window to make the piece itself which would
of course be difficult to fix or recover from.
• Other issues could be that the piece will struggle to be as good as possible as I haven't necessarily
included a massive amount of contingency plans In my work therefore should a tremendous
amount of issues come up then the piece may be in serious jeopardy but in reality that shouldn't
be the case and the piece should go on schedule especially since I have changed my idea since the
beginning of the planning as it changed from a music podcast to a audio doc but I'm happy with
this change and satisfied that it will be the best thing possible.
4. Problems With Location
• Due to this being an audio project I wont encounter the amount nor the bigger issues of video
production such as editing problems or in fact location issues I will mainly have to rely on me a lot
less than on the people I'm using which at that is not that many, so the overall issues I may
encounter could very well be my own issues to solve one of such issues could be that of where all
my parts would be filmed/ recorded.
• One of the location issues could be that I might nit be able to record all of my piece in one area so
the sound may have a slight differential which could present issues with production should the
piece sound too different but again referring back to the other options for our FMP, the issues I
will encounter with location can be fixed easily as the area to record voice or “reshoot” is near to
where I'm usually working on pieces, unlike in a video piece this is a very easy fix for a very minor
problem that in another context could have been major.
5. Problems With Production Overall
• Misplacement of files is one of the biggest mistakes that you could make especially if that file is
not recoverable from where it was original taken from this is most common when working
between multiple devices and transferring files over multiple accounts and file storage areas, the
fix for this one is obvious don’t forget to save two forms of the piece and have all your work
backed up on a USB because even though they are reliable there is no guarantee that the files
saved on a computer to anywhere are not permanent especially if that computer crashes an dies
all of a sudden with a week left of the FMP then you have no choice but to do it all again or just
throw in the towel at that point.
• The fix as previously mentioned for this piece is to just back up the piece to different locations
and not necessarily rely on devices to keep everything saved having it backed up onto a drive of
some sort isn't a bad idea either, it definitely wont hurt it.
6. Problems With Production Continued…
• The positives of working inside audio are as previously mentioned the fact that there are fairly
few problems actually possible to encounter, the editing process itself can be one big problem in
general the process itself is not a long one but can take more attention and application than some
video projects do themselves.
• The issues with editing can range from using various different programs or formats which overall
could ruin the piece itself with just a difference in formats and conversions, the other various
issues could be that of the backing track not being able to line up with the Bpm and trying to
work around that sometimes it can work especially if the backing is a little bit more quiet than the
the words being said and the music combining with it.
• There isn't too many issues to visit with the audio piece but of course there are any basic
problems and these can be tackled with common sense and commitment to making the piece the
best it can be
7. Potential Problems With Overall Production
• Overall production could be made slightly different from previous
years in comparison to this one by the means of the COVID-19
pandemic of course making the current situation a little less tenable
than it has been in the past, this is a wider problem than just one in
particular so the nailed on issue overall would be that the pandemic
affected the production just in a general way.
