2. Task 2: Idea Development and Planning U9 2.1
You could create a mood board of images related to your product. They could be inspirational or visually interesting.
Analyse what you have gathered.
Decide on content and think about how you will structure your piece – consider the conventions of your chosen
style/genre, think about the best methods to appeal to your audience.
Finally work out a production schedule for the project. Once you have a final proposal, begin to plan how you intend to
realise your project and what you will need to create/collect.
Planning will vary depending on if you are doing a web series, podcast or a fanzine.
Web-series: A script, storyboard, organisational docs and clearance forms for your contributors/sources.
Fanzine: Content outline, visual style, pagination, organisational documents.
Podcast: Script, organisational docs, clearance forms for your contributors/sources.
4. Moodboard Analysis
In the mood board on the previous slide I have placed images of the creation I am trying to create and also the people
that will be featured in the podcast such as Iann & Tracy, The pictures of the Everyday Struggle and The No Jumper
Podcast are just features I would like to emulate that are in the very same genre that Iann and Tracy belong to. The No
Jumper Podcast is hosted by Adam22 and the Everyday Struggle is a cancelled news show done by DJ Akademiks, Joe
Budden and Nadeska Alexis, Both the Everyday Struggle and No Jumper are good feature programs for the rap genre.
Joe Budden is a former Rap Talent, Adam22 is an extremely controversial radio host but is still extremely funny an
easy to watch, DJ Akademiks is an Artist, Producer, Radio Host and Entertainer and Nadeska Alexis is a Music Journalist
who took on the peacemaker role if you like between Akademiks and Joe Budden. Budden is famed for his
controversial opinions on modern and Old for that matter rap music his criticism of Lil Yachty, Lil Xan and Eminem
have all been widely publicized especially when Yachty appeared on the show and told Joe Budden exactly how he felt
and they talked it out live on the show to everyone's surprise. His run-ins with Lil Xan are also well publicized as his
commitment to critiquing Diego was unfair but good for drama. His open criticism of Eminem caught him extremely
heavy backlash and included a personal message from Em on Eminem's extremely controversial studio album
Kamikaze(2018) the line “I’m sorry, wait, what’s your talent? Oh, critiquin’ / My talent? Oh, bitch, I don’t know who
the fuck y’all are” on the song ‘The Ringer’. This gave the Everyday Struggle show a huge boost in ratings due to the
huge influence of Eminem or at least the use of his name on the show especially with Joe Budden being attacked
verbally by Em.
5. Content:
My planned project is a music podcast with talented singer/songwriter Jazz Ishmael Butler AKA Lil Tracy I have worked
with Tracy for about two years now on various musical projects I also due to the current circumstances may be able to
get Iann Dior AKA Michael Ian Olmo to make an appearance on the pod he's also an extremely talented individual and
has a net worth of around $1m U$D both make an appearance on more than one occasion on he mood board that I
have created on the previous slide the main premise of the podcast Is to make a piece of content with two very
talented individuals such as Jazz and Mike both know various things about the music culture and will have so many
stories to share however it is very likely that with the offer of the podcast available to both of them the record
companies may make a NDA necessary to be enforced which is fair enough just simply due to the topics possibly
being deemed as sensitive to the company they work on behalf of being Caroline Records both artists are signed to
this label which means that the discussion between me and the representative I may need to speak to will hopefully
be fairly swift I have had interactions with their people manager before and hopefully that can contribute to the
conversation.
The topic of my podcast will not necessarily be defined as a specific at this moment in time due to the nature of the
artist I would be communicating with on the actual podcast the topics would likely be stories from inside the industry
and topics around Tracy's former best friend which is of course the late Gustav Ahr AKA Lil Peep both these topic
cannot be defined as that would be intrusive to what the guest would be able to contribute to the actual
conversation that I would be trying to then forcefully capture the content rather than enjoying creating the specific
content. 1/2
6. Content Continued…
I want to make the content featured in the projects such as Everyday Struggle, No Jumper and The Breakfast Club
But also have a fun connection with people like Tracy and Iann however the Lil Tracy friendship does not need to be
forced, mine and Tracy's relationship has thrived over the last year this was so enjoyable and I'm happy I can get him
into a project of my own rather than me being in his projects all the time, This difference is important due to the ease of
communication between myself and him which has been consistent for a fair while now so the conversations will be
simplistic and easy to maintain.
The script I will write will represent the script of a full podcast or at least a 20-25 minute cast and I will get rid of a 3
minute extract to submit for the final piece due to the factor of me enjoying conversation between myself and Tracy,
Iann will most likely just add to the conversation and make it roll as an interview rather than just a conversation but
obviously also a conversation as that’s what the podcast genre is built upon. 2/2
7. Planning:
The Script:
Me: Welcome to the ToBeDecided Podcast today we have our regular co-host Lil Tracy our guest today is none other than
the 21 Year Old Multi-Million Dollar Artist/Producer who has accumulated over 500m Listens on all platforms making
songs with people such as Machine Gun Kelly, 24kGoldn and Atlanta Prodigy Lil Baby. Welcome to the show, Iann Dior!
Iann: Thank You Etc.
Me: Right lets hop straight into it then Iann how's your year been so far how was lockdown etc. how's it affected your life
and lifestyle etc.
Iann: Replies
Tracy: Contributes probably
Me: either discusses a topic that Iann created whilst chatting or moves onto Tracy and how his year has been and how its
affected an industry he holds so close to his heart.
Tracy: Replies
8. The Script No.2
Me: Talks about the 3 of our routes into music and why some musicians value producers more than others and
why the culture around the production work isn't as glorified as the process around music video production
Tracy & Iann: Reply
Me: I Want to do some questions that will be quick fire and I just want straight answers
Tracy & Iann: Aight
Q1: Who is your biggest music inspiration?
Q2: Who is the most overrated OG?
Q3: Do industry plants actually exist?
Q4: Top 5 rappers right now not including either of you?
Q5: Who do you prefer Eminem, Big Or Pac?
Q6: Who is your “best man” in music?
Q7: Preferred Producer?
Q8: Any collabs in the future that you would be interested in?
Q9: Any artist who is no longer with us who you wanted to collab with?
Q10: Celebrity Crush?
9. The Script No.3
Me: No wall them questions are answered are there any you have for me?
Iann & Tracy: Reply
Me: Either answers the question or moves onto the final topic of the podcast
Me: If there is one person who you could make a full production video, music, collab and everything paid for who is
the 5 man team including yourself so basically one or two artists, a producer, a director, a editor and a celebrity
cameo?
Iann & Tracy: Reply
Me: Okay so that concludes todays episode me and Tracy will be back again next week with our guest from Panic At
The Disco! The one and only Brendon Urie, however for this week I would like to thank Iann for his appearance on
this weeks episode and for his collaborative work on the upcoming Caroline Records ”Yearbook” Project we
appreciate you as always I would like to thank you Tracy for being my delightful co-host and I would also last but not
least like to thank our wonderful sponsors Caroline Records & Ca$h App the work you guys do to make this show
happen is unbelievable so we thank you for that.
Me: and that will end todays show thanks for tuning in see you next week when we speak to Brendon Urie and ask
him all the weird and the wonderful of being teenage girls heartthrob, thanks again to Iann and Tracy and to you the
listener we’ll see you next week.
10. Permissions & NDA Discussions
Week One: My contact at Caroline Records informed me an NDA would be very unlikely to be needed but discussions
Over talking points and keeping the content as friendly to the company's appearance as possible are going to be needed
But no NDA will be necessary at all.
Caroline Records will have a shoutout in the podcast despite it being a huge record label and unnecessary the request
has been granted. This is due to the nature of the podcast being a platform for the conversation between Me, Iann and
Tracy.
12. Production Schedule:
Week One: Ongoing conversation with Caroline Records, progress only slightly made. Script written, Lil Tracy is down to
be my Co-Host and also conversations with Iann are ongoing, with the current situation Iann is under quite the
workload to FastTrack his album to early next year which is why I wouldn't be surprised if he cant make it but Tracy will
definitely be available due to his lack of care for a consistent schedule.
Week Two: The 2nd week conversations with Tracy and Iann should be wrapped up and also the conversations with
Caroline Records should likely be wrapped up by then as well the creative direction of the podcast should be finalized by
then the creation process should start the week after this one.
Week Three: The 3rd week the creation/recording of the podcast might be available early this week or late this same
week it really depends on how the week before finishes the editing process should begin the week after this one.
Week Four: In the 4th week the editing process should be begun and completed this week alone and the process will
be completed.
