This document outlines a proposal for a podcast project about the music industry. The proposal includes sections on the project rationale, concept, and evaluation plan. The rationale explains that the student will draw on 7-8 years of music editing experience combined with media course skills. The concept is for a podcast discussing downfalls and positives of the industry, and biases towards certain artists. Evaluation will involve getting opinions from industry peers on whether the podcast effectively impacts the target audience and addresses points about the industry. A bibliography lists potential sources including interviews, research on music and production theory, and analysis of wealth distribution in the creative process. A week-by-week tasks plan outlines the pre-production, production, evaluation, and presentation phases.

Project proposal title and date:
Bourbon Street.
Main area of activity:
I will be making this podcast mostly audio based just like the topic we will be discussing which is of
course music
Rationale: 150 words approx.
I will use the skills I have gained from the media courses I have done over the last 2/3 years
however will also be incorporating specific skills that I have learned from working with music
editing over the past 7/8 years this experience I feel will be vital in making a good enough piece for
the fmp to be graded at the level I am seeking
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
The concept for my piece is that it will be a podcast talking about the downfalls and the positives of
the music and entertainment industry and its many misuses of talented individuals the industry
bias towards artists is completely fair given the situation with the need for a “[poster boy” however
this doesn’t by any stretch mean that the people who put in more than just a recording session
every few months are very often much more overlooked
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 150 words approx.
I will be seeking to evaluate my work by simply analysing whether I achieved the expected impact
on my gtarget audience by seeking the opinions of certain peers that work in the industry
themselves I would be interested to see whether they would agree with some of the points we may
make about the industry which at the end of the day protects their careers.
