2. Question 1: How old are you?
Here is a pie chart of the answers I received:
The target audience I planned to have is
from the ages of 16- 20 years old. Looking
at the results I got I can see that I am using
the right age category as everyone who
took the survey were over 16 years old. I
am going to keep the same target
audience because I want my magazine to
be targeted for college students and
university students who tend to age from
16 and upwards.
3. Question 2: How often do you read
magazines?
Here is a pie chart of the answers I received:
Looking at the results I can see most people
tend to read magazines monthly or yearly. This
really helped me as it helped me understand
my target audience better as I now know when I
should release my magazine. I have decided it
will be a monthly issue because I think if it was
yearly not many people will be invested in the
product. I want to keep my target audience
updated on affordable fashion for them that
they would like to buy.
4. Question 3: What do you enjoy about
reading magazines?
Here is a pie chart of the answers I received:
For this question I received many different
answers but the most popular ones were the
articles and that it is available online. I am already
creating a website but this means I can advertise
it in my magazine and billboard so then people
will be informed of the website. I will have to
make my article appeal to my target audience as
that received the most votes. I am planning on
doing a double page spread about autumn
fashion with multiple images.
5. Question 4: What articles do you expect
to see in a fashion magazine?
Here are the written responses from my question:
Looking at the written replies I received I can
see a lot of variety such as hair and makeup
tips, tutorials, the new fashion trends etc. this
has inspired me for sell line ideas and content
to put on my contents page. I feel like for my
double page spread it is going to be
dedicated to the latest fashion trends in
autumn and I will include details like where
the clothes are from in the region and the
prices.
6. Question 5: What would you like as
free sample in a fashion magazine?
Here is a pie chart of the answers I received:
From looking at the results on my pie chart
the most popular answers are fragrant and
make up. I am going to use he more popular
choice and include a free fragrant sample in
my magazine. I chose to include a free sample
in my magazine because it may attract people
into getting my magazine and then the reader
get to try it out for themselves and they can
buy it for themselves, instead of buying
something they don’t like it. Instead of buying
it and wasting their money if they don’t like it.
7. Question 6: Which shops do you enjoy
getting your clothes from:
Here are the written responses I received:
I felt like this question was important for
me to know so then I can use the shops
that my target audience usually go to and
that are affordable for them. Looking at
the answers I mostly got the same answers
of: Primark, New Look, H&M, select and
Topshop. I am going to incorporate
clothing from these shops by having
models wearing clothes from there. This
also helps as all of these shops are in the
regional city centre.
8. Question 7:
The theme of the magazine will be Autumn what type of clothes, shoes, accessories
would you expect to see? For example jeans, boots etc
Looking at these answers really helped me have an idea what my models should be wearing during my
photoshoots. The clothing ideas will help inspire me and inform my models what type of clothing they need to
bring. It helps that the target audience answered this question because it gives me an answer of what they would
like to see in the magazine.
Here are the written response I received :
9. Question 8:
What type of social media do you use? You are
allowed to select more than one
Here is a pie chart of the answers I received:
I asked this question as I know that most
teenagers have at least one social media page
because that is how they update themselves on
what is happening everyday. For my magazine I
am going to incorporate a Facebook page, a
Instagram page and Twitter page as these were
the most popular social media sites on my
survey. I would use the social media page to
discuss any updates of the new magazine
issues and give sneak previews.
10. Question 9:
What would you expect to see on a fashion website?
Here are the written responses I received:
The reason I asked this question is so I can get a better idea of what they would expect, this is so I can be provided
inspiration of what to add onto my website. Looking at the answers I mostly got the answer of seeing the latest
trends, images of the models and articles or columns. However, I liked the idea of leaving a link to clothing
websites to show some deals for students which will be beneficial for them.
11. Question 10: What would you like to see on a
fashion magazine website?
Here are the written responses I received:
The reason I asked this question was to provide inspiration for me for when I have to create a website, I
wanted to use my own and other people’s ideas. Looking at the answers I received I can mainly see links to
articles o websites about the latest fashion, sales and tips. One idea I really liked was the idea of using
different sized models because I want my magazine to be for all girls. I also liked the idea of having different
sized models because it provides variation and it makes my magazine slightly different from others as it is not
commonly seen in fashion magazines.
12. Question 11:
What would you like to see on a billboard? E.g
colorful images etc
Here are the written responses I received:
The reason I asked this question was again to provide inspiration for when I have to create a billboard.
Looking at the responses I received I can see that people expect to see colourful images, model wearing
affordable clothes and a short catchy text (a slogan). For my billboard I am definitely going to proved a slogan
as a lot of the answers expect to see it on a billboard and I am not going to add too much text because I think
it will draw the reader away from the billboard.
13. Question12:
Do you have any ideas or suggestions that you would like
to see for my autumn themed magazine, website and
billboard?
Here are the written responses I received:
The reason I asked this question is to provide inspiration of articles to put into my contents page and an idea of
how I can play with the Autumn theme in my magazine. Looking at the responses I mostly got the response of
Autumn clothes, different images of models wearing different warmer clothes. The most popular response was
to incorporate Autumn holidays mainly Halloween. I have previously received this suggestion on my pitch
feedback so I am definitely going to incorporate the holiday.
14. Question13: What do you like as a Masthead
(name) for the magazine? Or do you have any
suggestions?
Here is a pie chart of the answers I received:
I asked this question because I wanted my
target audience to help choose the name of
the magazine. This was because I didn’t know
what name to definitely go with and I liked
the idea of involving my target audience so
then they can feel like they helped towards
the creative process of the magazine. As you
can see the most popular choice was
Northern Chic. I am going to apply this to my
magazine as it will now be the masthead. I
feel like it definitely represents the region as
it shows that is set in the North of England.
