2.  Newspapers -The Guardian, The Independent , The Telegraph.
These reviews are often structured written reviews with a few
images .
 Online-Rotten Tomatos , TimeOut, Empire online,
filmreview.com, IMDB. These reviews are very visual and have
only a few short paragraphs of text.
 Blogs- Roger Erbert , Flickering Myth , Back to the movies,
Movie Moron, Filmonic. These reviews exist on the basis of the
theme of the blog.
 Film magazines- Total film, Empire, Sight & Sound. Generally
double page spreads with a full article and images.
WHERE CAN FILM REVIEWS BE FOUND?

3.  Generally online critique sites will
combine the films scores on certain
areas and then give it a total percentage
to establish the quality of the film, this
is more visual than newspaper reviews.
For example, on the Rotten Tomatoes site
if a film is above 60% it is considered
‘fresh’ below this it would be labelled as
‘rotten’.
 In written reviews, the title is usually
displayed alike a masthead on double
page spread.
 The tagline for the article is generally a
pun or play on words to the title of the
film/genre.
 Underneath the tagline will appear the
BBFC or rating certificate of the film, to
instantly establish what sort of audience
this film would be suitable for.
 Then a short synopsis of the films plot or
main events to give the reader a basic
overview of the film.
 The crucial part of the review will be a
critical paragraph – a response after
watching the film and a personal opinion
of it’s best and worst features.
