2. Quotes
Often a review begins with either a quote
or reference from the actual film. This is
utilized as a good introduction for the
reader as it is common in film reviews;
although it is not seen to be used as much
in Short Films as they don’t have key
‘Quotes’etc within them.
3. Film Name & Year of Release
Having the Film name and year of release is
conventional on Film Reviews. This
information is then followed by the films genre
and then its credits such as director,
screenwriter, sound track and main actors
.
4. Intro & Summary
It is very conventional for the first paragraph to
contain a short summary of the film. Which will
include aspects of the timeline, location and
and the actual narrative. This is often
proceeded by a personal view of the film, from
the writers perspective.
5. Plot
Its quite conventional that the second
paragraph continues the synopsis of the film
with emphasis place on the actual plot of the
film. However, there are usually few references
to the ending, so to avoid ruining the film for
readers that have yet to watch it.
6. Aspects +/-
Its quite conventions for the next paragraph to
feature the positive aspects of the film itself.
This often features a personal opinion of
certain points of interest within the production.
This often focuses on points such as- the story,
setting, Mise-En-Scene, the effects used and
the films music. The paragraph is then
followed by one which focuses on the negative
aspects of the film.
7. Characters
Its sometimes conventional for Short Film
Reviews to focus on the characters of the
Short Film and explain their good and bad
qualities. However, This isn’t always present in
Short Film Reviews because they have very
little amount of characters.
8. Ratings
In Film Reviews it is comventional to summarie
the review in the Final Paragraph giving a star
rating out of 5. however, This isn’t as
conventional in Short Film Reviews.
9. Other Conventions
Increased Size for the first letter of the
review.

Page Numbers.
Italics for quotes.
