2. PREMISE OF THE VIDEO
• Through researching many music videos, and typical conventions, I am pitching my
idea for a music video of “Sweet Dreams”, by the artist BORNS.
• Adhering to the theme of love, my video will be following a girl and her ex boyfriend,
and the complexity of still loving yet rejecting each other.
• This video will be narrative based, but have some performance elements.
• It will have representation of gender and ethnicity.
• A key theme of this video will be the colour red, and the symbolism it holds, being the
colour of love, anger and passion, each conflicting emotions.
4. MODELS
• Marnie: she will be the main protagonist in the video. She too, is a
media student, as well as a singer and dancer with an interest in
fashion. She has the confidence and performance style that is needed
for this video.
• Ed: he will play Marnie’s ex boyfriend. I chose him as he is friends with
Marnie so will naturally have good chemistry. He is confident in front
of the camera and plays the drums. He will be in scenes of Marnie
looking back at their relationship as she is figuring out if she misses
him or not.
• Raph: he will be the performance aspect to this video. He plays the
guitar and will lip sync some of the lyrics. Although he is not related to
the narrative, his roll will adhere to Andrew Goodwin’s music video
theory.

10. SAMPLE SHOTS- VIDEO + IMAGES
Although I will probably not use these
images in my final product, I was able to
practice using equipment on a real
photoshoot. With my sample video, I was
able to practice editing different shot types
together to the music.
