I have chosen to create a music video for my final project. I am doing this
because last year I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of creating my music
video and have good knowledge on how to create one again to a better
level, therefore I think I will achieve the best grade I can doing a music
video.
Synopsis of Idea

I am proposing to create another short concept music video for my final
project. I want the music video to contain a lot of flashing imagery and
short, fast scenes with the odd longer scene. The track I have chosen to do
is ‘dooms vip – Snapshot ftChimpo’ I think this track would be suitable
because it’s one of my favourite tracks and the repetitiveness of having to
listen to it wouldn’t bore me. I am going to research other drum and bass
music videos and implement their ideas into my own.

My Music video will be aimed atpredominantly the male teenage and adult
audience that are interested in drum and bass.

Needs?
Because of the genre of music I am doing, my video will only be appealable
to a small target audience so I am going to aim to create a music video
which appeals to all people, no matter their genre of music. For this I am
going to have to try and make a humorous but serious music video. My
main aim is to provide a video that people will enjoy regardless of the
music; it would however be a huge bonus if people began to enjoy the
chosen music style.

In order for me to fulfil my task in attracting a wider audience to the drum
and bass genre, I am going to implement many ideas that are included in
everyday chart music videos. One of my ideas is to have a few scenes where
a character will be miming the lyrics to the song, rather than just let the
video become out of control and messy like parts of my first music video
design last year. Another one of my ideas is to choose suitable lighting; this
will enhance the look and feel of my video. I am also carefully going to
choose popular brands to be used, such as popular alcohol labels, popular
clothing labels and popular sound system labels so people can refer to
them and feel more involved within the video.
What production
techniques will you
use to realise your
project?
To begin with, I will require having a storyboard to ensure my video runs to
plan with little/no problems; I will be creating my storyboard on Microsoft
word. I will also be carrying out a risk assessment during pre-production to
ensure the safety of me and everyone else involved. I will be using Adobe
Premiere to edit and piece together my music video, this software is what I

used last year and I have a good, clear understanding of how it works which
is a huge help.
