1. Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
I will create a music videoand cd cover for
teenage Dirtbag – Wheatus
Why have youdecided to makeit? This will show off my skill of creating videoand
image which I bothenjoy. I believe I am able to
create a strongpiece for boththe filmography /
editing of the music video andcd cover. We have
learnt equally how to gainconfidence in usingin
photoshopadpremiere pro.
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
My ambitionis to go to university andtake a post-
production coursefor videoand thendo a 1/2
year shortcourse on image editing ie posters and
magazines, thiswill buildup my knowledge as I
would love a job in the post-productionsector,
therefor these two parts of my FMP combined
gives me experience in both image and video. I
believe in the importanceof creating an image to
the sound, therefor a visually appeasingmusic
video is a vital part of music, it also helpsfurther
advertise the song/ artist.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
My original influence is to stick to a 90s/ early
2000svibe, inorder to do thisI will include clips
thatlook as if filmed on a video camera as they
are classic to the 90s. Withmy bandbeing indie /
rock, similar tothe artist done onmy musicvideo
project earlier in this academic year I havethe
knowledge thatalmostall music videosinclude
the lip-syncingandinstrumentplayingas part of
the video. My main influences are the common
similarities amongst90s/2000sindie/rock music
videos.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
I want my productto be eye catching as my role in
this songsproductionisadvertisement, thisis
importantas it gathersa wider audience, therefor
I need my productto be engaging and slightly out
of the norm sothe viewer will have something
thatstandsout toremember the song by. I also
need find the perfect balance between the norm
anddistinct as the ‘fanbase’ will have
expectations from their style of music.

The video camera style in some shotswill give off
an ‘unprofessional’ vibeasthe quality will be
shaky, howeverthis is plannedas it is tolook like
the ‘teenagers’ in the song are filming them
