March 06 - Present Global Technology Manager responsible for identifying, assessing and
recommending new technologies to ensure the Company is at the
forefront in promoting innovation and new business initiatives. Reviewing
practices and procedures for current compliance, whilst introducing safer,
more efficient and cost effective systems in line with our CQI policy.
Particular responsibility for promoting cross-divisional communication
(including Integrity Management, Space Systems, ROV and Deepwater
Technical Solutions) and management of common client inter-division
projects.
Jul 95 – March 06 Business Development Manager responsible for promoting the Company
service range world-wide. Responsible for the Specialised Inspection
Systems (SIS) department employing an SIS Operations Manager and
team of 50off multi-discipline specialist operators supporting operational
departments with technical and particularly advanced NDT and Inspection
Systems. Responsible for invention, research, development and
overseeing the detailed design and manufacture of the Small Controlled
Area Radiography System (SCAR). Patent application nominee and
latterly promoting the system now accepted as the safest industrial
radiography system in the industry. Secondary role as Assistant

Feb 94 - Jul 95 QA/Safety Manager responsible for the maintenance and upgrading of
quality management systems, specifically for the retention of BS5750/ISO
9002 NCSIIB, LEEA certifications and NAMAS accreditation. Responsible
for establishing and maintaining a safe working environment by
development of a safety management system and procedures within the
Regional Bases and at various sites. Perform Quality/Safety/Technical
Audits as required by audit schedule. Supervising Technical Support
personnel, responsible for the development and improvement of
inspection methods.
Jan 93 - Feb 94 Technical Support Co-ordinator within Technical Services Department,
supervising a section providing support in the maintenance of and
improvement to the Divisions' quality and safety management systems
and Technical Services. Responsible for performing
quality/safety/technical audits, generation of detailed operating
procedures for all departments within the organisation. Identify latest
inspection technologies by liaising with equipment manufacturers and
suppliers and by reference to available technical documentation e.g.
journals, courses, etc. Appointed as authorised assessor for

safety. Directly responsible for recruitment of all discipline technicians in
addition to sourcing contract engineering personnel to satisfy major Oil
Company call-off contracts. Special responsibilities for Contracts and

Jun 83 - Apr 85 NDT Site Manager. Employed at Essochem/C.E. Lummus Fife Ethylene
Plant at Mossmoran as NDT Site Manager with responsibility for the
establishment and operation of a comprehensive Non Destructive Testing
programme on the construction phase.
Duties involved the preparation of monthly valuations, collation and
approval of time sheets, maintenance of plant returns, Q.A. and
Personnel Records and associated administration. Also acted as Site
Competent Person under the Ionising Radiation Regulations And
prepared all relevant safety documentation. Ensured that all N.D.T.
personnel qualified to CSWIP/ASNT II standards complied with
ASME/EXON and BS specifications.
Supervised and controlled at peak a workforce of 27 technical,
administrative and supervisory staff.
As a secondary operation provided N.D.T. services from site to various
contractors in the Fife area.

Nov 80 - Jan 82 Carried out a number of QA/QC projects both in the U.K. and overseas
as follows:
Client QA/QC Inspector at McAlpine Humberoak Limited, Gt. Yarmouth,
acting for Chicago Bridge Industries on behalf of Phillips Petroleum;
Welding Inspector at Aramco Petro Chemical Complex, Qatar, Persian
Gulf for Belgian client Company, Vincotte; Client QA/QC Inspector based
at Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft, Hamburg for Chicago Bridge
Industries on behalf of Phillips Petroleum.
Also involved in general construction activities connected with the Phillips
"Maureen" T.S.G. Production Platform (main contractor C.B.I.) including
Q.A./Q.C. supervision of Node/Brace assemblies and all
structural/pipework installations on the temporary deck structure. During
this period, was employed at various U.K. and overseas fabrication sites.
1975 - 1980 NDT Technician on a wide range of projects including nuclear plants,
offshore installations, colliery work, pipelines, onshore platform fabrication
yards and power stations. Gained experience in all disciplines of N.D.T.
using a variety of techniques.
Contracts worked on include:
NDT Technician based at Lewis Offshore, Stornoway, and C.E.G.B.,
Hinkley Point, Somerset.
NDT Technician based at Fluor Sasol II Oil from Coal Project, Secunda,
South Africa.
NDT Technician working on the following projects: BNFL, Windscale and
Winfrith; Shell Expro, offshore on Brent Field; NCB, Polmaise and
Polkennet Collieries; Texaco, Milford Haven & Graythorpe Dry Dock Yard
and British Gas on the Moffat to Bishop Auckland Pipelines.
