• Language skills are ability to comprehend receptive
language and use expressive language to communicate.
• Four skills : LSRW
• Listening and speaking skills are known as Oracy.
• Reading and writing are known as literacy.
• Together both Oracy and literacy form lingucy.
• They are interrelated because using a language required
more then one skill at a time.

•Most important communication skill.
•More time using our listening skill then any
other.
•Like other listening take practice.
•Required attention.

•Hearing is first stage of listening.

•Receiving the systematic sounds of the language.
•Processing and constructing sound into words.
•Giving meaning to the word and receiving
meaning from the word.
•Ability to interpret and comprehend the
speaker’s utternces.

•Communication process.
•To successful Communication we need an active
process.
•Meaning and evolution must take place before
listener respond to speaker.
•The listening is actively working while the speaker is
taking.
