1. Q1..
In what ways do your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?
2. I believe that the media product I have created, mostly
follows a conventional music magazine the reason
behind this idea was because I wanted to make sure
my product was realistic and followed some of the
norms of what the public acknowledges a magazine
should contain, as it is fair to say that they are the
ultimate buyers and my product should suit their
interests and needs.
3. Especially, some of the elements I decided to follow
were the masthead and skyline these factors in my
opinion make the magazine look far more
professional. I purposely decided to make my
masthead fairly short especially after being
influenced by NME after doing more in depth
research besides my case study, I believe having a
three letter masthead is significantly more
memorable and catchy therefore I believe that most
buyers would be satisfied with this choice.
4. Below I will annotate the conventional features both magazines
have

5. The reason why I specifically chose NME magazine
was because it is the sort of magazine which is most
similar to my genre therefore it caters to both. I
wanted to make sure the masthead was fairly short
and catchy for that reason I came up with the idea of
'IND' which is simply a shorter abbreviation of the
word indie.
6. The colour scheme I picked was black and
red, these two colours work well together and makes
it fairly easy to read but, besides this reason from my
case studies I acknowledged that majority of music
magazine have only a few colours which are used
throughout therefore I wanted to also adapt this idea.
7. Also carrying on with my double page spread I have
decided to lay it out in a question and answer format
not only to follow the norms of a conventional
magazine but to make it easier for the readers. Once
again to make the magazine seem more realistic I
added an advertisement on my contents
page, magazines tend to have a significant number
of advertisements in them so I wanted to follow this
factor.
