2. The reader's attention is drawn to the huge red san serif
header "Contents" in this issue of "Empire" magazine.
The reader's attention is then directed to the big figure
that takes up half of the page. The figure's direct
address to the audience demonstrates the character's
strength and authority while maybe tying in with certain
aspects of the movie and personalising it since it seems
to be addressed to the spectator. There is always a
features section on the magazine to show other types of
films that might be related or are on the same genre
type as this film magazine. At the bottom of the
magazine, in all capitals, is written “COLLECT THEM
ALL!”. The readers attention will also divert there to see
what they could collect.
3. At the top of the magazine, there is contents masthead which
is the biggest text out of the rest of the other texts. This will
make the readers attention go to the title and then the image
on the right hand side of the magazine. The image shows a
man perhaps listening to someone or slightly puzzled. The
other titles that are in a red bar ‘THIS ISSUE, TEASERS,
EVERY ISSIE, TOTAL FILM’. These subtitles are describing in
short what will be in the section if they do continue to read the
contents page. The red scheme and white colour scheme is
showing that there is innocence and danger together. There is
also a figure in the bottom left corner of the magazine. Given
this figure, the readers attention will go to the figure and
question this figure and who it is. On the image on the right,
there is a number 60 and underneath in capitals ‘IN THE
HOOD’ the image has a man with a hood on. These two
corelations makes all the contents on the page linked together.
4. The readers attention goes to the ‘WELCOME’ in purple
since that is in capital letters and everyone in the UK
reads from left to right. The masthead is at the top so
that will obviously be read first. There is a contents on
different magazines as well. The reader will tend to give
their attention more to photos and colour and since
there is loads of colour on the right side of the
magazine, readers will view the photos and the text.
There is also a red circle that has written ‘WIN MATILDA
THE MUSICAL PRIZE’. Peoples attention will go there
too since it is a circle, almost centred into the page. The
main image is puss in boots, this film is mostly streamed
and viewed a lot since it is quite famous.
