Faber Tower is a twin tower skyscrapper. It
consists of offices and shop lots. All the office
space are corner lots being designed to
capture the maximum exterior panoramic
view with almost all of the Klang Valley
without any obstacles

The buildings reflect everything in
this composition on either side of an
actual or imaginary access.The
towerâs plan or elevation are mirror
to each other.

corner plot, Faber Towers each plot
captures a natural lighting and
provides unobstructed panoramic
view of the Klang Valley.

and intersecting the trapezoidal prism roof. The forms

The building was developed using the Design
and Build Contract, for a competent,
quality-conscious and cost-effective
construction.
Accommodation
Rectilinear forms, repetition of design elements
creates ornamentation and decoration.
The massing of the building is a rectangular form placed vertically,
which allows the building to be constructed upwards without
taking up too much space.
Repetition of geometric shapes is
shown by the
repetitiveness of the windows and
floors of the same
respective size.
A vertical axis can be drawn to
the building and an
asymmetrical balance can be
seen. It gives a visual sense of
emphasis to the one side of the
building.
The total number of floor units
makes up the whole building,
giving it its vertical rectangular
form.
The hotel is located within the
enclosures of the Mid Valley Megamall
and the main road. The nearby
commercial blocks and the mall are
significantly lower than the hotel itself,
which creates an emphasis to the
building.

DESIGN CONCEPT
The building was completed in the year 2009, named Quill
7 by Quill Group of Companies. It was a 30 stories high-tech
grade A office tower. The Axiata Group Berhad moved in
to the building, and it received its status as a muitlmedia
Super Corridor (MSC) office building
The building is formed by interlocking cylinder and a
rectangular form
The building is made up of a cylinder intersecting with a
rectangle.
This condominium is placed among the lush green
land of Taman Desa. It consists of 3 blocks, 19 floors
and a total of 370 units. This condo is a modern
building design with several facilities including
swimming pool and tennis court
The condominium is designed of 3
blocks with interlocking volumes
of 3 rectangular shaped buildings
formed together
This condominium is divided through
radial symmetry meaning each side of
the condo is equally balanced and both
of the axes intersect at a base point.
SYMMETRICAL BALANCE
A combination of perfect squares
of varying sizes can be seen from
the plan.
Repetition is shown by the
repetitiveness of the windows of the
same dimensions in a block.
The entrance of the building is
subtracted from the rectangular form.
Although itâs subtracted, we still
perceive it as rectangular form
LINEAR CIRCULATION
The main path in the hotel roomsâ floor is in linear form. It creates a pass
by spaces relationship between the path and space. The integrity of the
spaces at both sides are maintained and the space in between is used to
link the spaces together.

metropolitan region of Kuala Lumpur.

comprising of principally connected
residentials. Keeps up nostalgic setting
of the late 90's from its post war
architecture and city layout while
Taman Desa located off the
East-West Link Expressway and Jalan
Klang Lama and under the Seputeh

Sungai Besi is a town in the Federal Territory of Kuala
Lumpur. Most profound tin mine in Malaysia is found

Kenanga Wholesale City ( also known as KWC
Fashion Mall ) is Malaysiaâs first fashion wholesale
mall which located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, a
few minutes from the cityâs Golden Triangle. KWC
Fashion Mall is endorsed by Tourism Malaysia as a
Kuala Lumpur must visit destination.
The idea of the architect is to design a building façade
which blend in and relate the design with the context
surrounding the building
The design of the building structure is in rectangular form by using 2
rectangular shapes give the whole building a tidy outlook.
The façade of the building which is
covered by the windows, and it is
using the concept of repetition. It
makes the building has a more
unique outlook.
REPETITION
The linear circulation that formed
a loop in KWC Fashion Mall ease
the people to move around in the
mall.
The building is a horizontal
rectangular form as it has made by
the numbers of floor units

similar and it gives a sense of

Le Meridien Hotel was launched in October 2004.
It is located opposite KL Central Station which
provides convenience access for the hotel guest to
KL City Center and KL International Airport. This
hotel has 35 floors with about 420 rooms which can
accommodate up to 1000 guests a day
The architect wanted to share the architecture structural
of Le Meridien with Hilton Hotel to creates a reflection
illusion between the 2 buildings
The hotel is designed by interlocking the volumes of 3 rectangular
forms together
Grid is used to generate the
geometric pattern of the building.
It unifies the building with
repetitive geometry
Le Meridien Hotel and Hilton Hotel
create a reflection illusion between
each other. A vertical axis can be
created among these 2 hotels.

allow us look from the taller part to
the shorter part.

Lumpur Sentral is the base camp for CIMB Investment
Group's. Its outline incorporates customary Islamic
components to make a versatile, ageless picture of quality
and certainty
The massing and the basic structure of the building in a whole are
formed by five interlocking cuboids
Two cuboids are added to the
focal cuboid to show its entrance
to the building and the other two
cuboids are where the name of the
building is placed

Wisma IAV is a modern contemporary designed purpose-built
retail and commercial building. It comprises of 12 floors with 2
basement car parks and a mechanical elevator car park
situated in the site
The building is using aluminium cladding with glass walling to
create a modernism feeling which looks outstanding in the
neighbourhood
The two blocks of tower interlock
each other at one corner which
created a curve look facade
The aluminium cladding was used
as a part of the structure at the
facade and also to create a
dynamic pattern for the building.
West Elevation South Elevation
The windows at east facade is
showing the used of the repetition
of geometric shapes. It also create
a contrast with the West
Elevation which is more dynamic
look.
The space organization of the
building created a free flow
(indicated in red) which allow
great amount of occupants can
easily circulate inside the area

Menara Shell is an authentic and certified Green
building with 21% energy savings and 2,000 tonnes
in carbon emission reduction.The building in a
whole is a mixed development comprising of one
block of office suite for Menara Shell and a
serviced apartment
The building has unique shape by repeating a diamond
like form.
The massing and basic structure of the building in the whole are formed
by interlocking three cuboids of varying sizes, with the horizontal cuboid
set as the base and main structural support
The tower is constructed mainly by
stacking repeating units of âhalf
diamonds,â creating a unique sense
of visual to the whole building
The repetitive âhalf diamondâ units
are stacked and arranged vertically
as such, where the joint angles give
a sense of a rhythmic zig-zag
pattern.

provides a wider view for the passerby

degreesâ pie shape. The curve
part (front entrance) which
facing the main road to grab
attention from passengers by
showing their luxury Porsche
merchandise and cars
SYMMETRY & BALANCE
The Porsche Centre is symmetrical in
one direction. The curved which is
balanced in the other has also helped
the building to emphasize on its
entrance meanwhile it is also facing
to the main road at the same time

2015
Masjid Zaid bin Thabit are public community
spaces designed to hold events, talks, and
conference for Islam religion. It was renovated once
due to extreme weather condition destroyed the
exterior ceiling of the mosque no casualty caused
during the incident
A modernistic mosque built without a traditional âbawangâ
dome but symmetry are highly inclined in the building itself. A
hexagon shaped mosque is uniquely presented in Desa Tun
Razak. It is built to fit in the area of modernizing example
building such as Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS)
The mosque itself is formed by multiple rectangle stacking together. The
massing are coherent due to the uses of similar shapes and no organic
shape involve hence it look a whole.
Repetition of octagon and
hexagon can be found in the
aerial view of the mosque
It is designed by the traditions of
symmetrical and repetitive shapes in
Islamic Architecture. An equal
octagon are used in this building
Spatial organization in this mosque
are centric, hence it allows public to
access through multiple entrances
and focus activity in the center of
the building.
The hierarchy pattern of this building were arranged in an ascending
order, it allow us to indicate it as a mosque even though without the
âbawangâ dome
Repetition concept of islamic

influence on the design and even
