2. Evaluation- What influenced your choice of
theme?
We read the brief and understood that the
preliminary task would determine how well the
group would do as it would show how creative
our group can be. We used this idea to
produce a film that used various codes and
conventions to that we can impress the
examiner and show potential in our foundation
portfolio.
3. Evaluation-How well did your product meet
with the original proposal?
The original proposal was for a thriller/horror
themed project but this proved difficult as
expected as it required a lot of time and specific
lighting and shots to create the effects that
would make the product what we had wanted,
this proved difficult in the set time that we had.
This means that we had to make several
changes throughout so that the product could
be finished
Due to the changes we made the product has
no genre at this time
4. Evaluation-How well did you plan your
production and what methods did you use?
The production itself was planned well with
minor changes to the actual product. As a
group we brainstormed to plan the production
and had planned the duration of each activity
we had to perform. We then planned our
production accordingly so we could focus
more on the filming and editing.
Story board, research etc.
5. Evaluation-Was this an effective method?
This was an effective method because each
member of the group had an input to the idea
that ended up with. Because of this the group
worked well together to create an idea and
then a product. This saved the group time as
we did not spend a majority of our time
debating or arguing about our final product.
6. Shot/Reverse Shot
Shot reverse shot is where one character is
shown looking at another character often off-screen,
then the other character is shown
looking back at the first character. The
characters are shown facing in opposite
directions so the viewer assumes that they are
looking at each other.
7. Match on Action
A match on action is a cut that connects two
different views of the same action at the same
moment in the movement. By carefully
matching the movement across the two shots
it seems that the motion continues.
8. Mis en scene
Mis en scene is the description of the key
aspects of film such as:
Set design
Lighting
Space
Costume
Composition
Mis en scene is used to show the theme and
mood of film
9. 180 Degree Rule
The 180 degree rule is a rule where there are
two people in the scene and they always have
same left right relationship in the shot. This is
done by having a non-existent line that the
camera always has to stay on the same side of
