2. Q: What is System?
Definition: system is a group or set of components that
interact and work together to complete a specific task.
For example our body itself is one system, which has
components like legs, hands, and etc.
Our way of communication is also one system, which is
developed with components like words and symbols by
which one person can communicate with other person.
Any business itself is also a system which may has
components like Manufacturing, sales, marketing,
accounting.
3. All these components Work together to generate profit
and benefit to organization each of these Components are
also a system.
For example manufacturing itself is one system, which has
component like production, quality control and packing.
Your pc itself is a system, which has component like CPU,
Monitor Keyboard and other devices, which together
interact with each other and process the data.
Every system depends on the information system where
data flows from one person to another or one department
to another.
4. This information system serves almost all the business
system by linking all the components of business and the
produce valuable information in the form of data.
5. Q: Give the Definition of System Analysis and System
Design.
• System Analysis: It is the process of gathering &
interpreting facts, diagnosing problems & using the
information to recommended improvements to the system.
• System Design: It is the process of planning a new
business system or one to replace or complement an
existing system.
• The system design is like the blue print for a building, it
specifies all the features to be finished.
• Analysis specifies what the system should do. Design states
how to accomplish the objective.
6. Q : Give the Definition of System analyst:
• A system analyst’s major role is to identify information
needs of an organization system. Even feasibility study,
eventual design & implementation of computer system are
also the function of system analyst.
Definition of an analyst is:
• “ A person who conducts a methodical study & evaluations of
an activity such as a business to identify its desired objective
in order to determine procedures by which objectives can be
gained.” (By Random house Dictionary).
7. “The task of system analyst is to elect needs & resource
constraints and to translate these into a viable operation.”
(By John Nicholas)
So, a system analyst’s primary responsibility is to identify
information needs of an organization & obtain a logical
design of an information system which will meet these
needs.
8. Q: Explain Responsibility of System Analyst.
• The most common sets of responsibilities are assigned to
system analyst:
System Analysis only:
• The analyst’s only role is conducting system studies to
learn relevant facts about business activity. The emphasis
is on gathering information & determining requirements.
9. System Analysis & Design:
• Analysts carry out complete system study but have added
responsibility of designing the new system.
• People, who are responsible for both systems analysis &
design, work on fewer projects.
System analysis, Design & programming:
• Analysts conduct the system investigation; develop design
specification & program s/w to implement the design.
10. Q: What is Subsystem?
One system is simplified and decomposed into number of
many small systems which are known as sub system.
Output of first system becomes an input for the other.
Q: What is Business System?
A business system refers to the values added process
meaning the supply of goods and services.
A business can span one or several business systems.
11. Q: What is Information System?
Every organization system depends on an information system.
This system shows the data flow from one person/department
to another.
Information system supports the business activities by
performing various activities like processing of input data,
maintaining the data and files, produces information, reports
and other output.
Information system consists of subsystems, including
hardware, software & data storage for files & database.
The particular set of sub-system used for specific task is known
as information system application.
12. There are mainly 3 types of Information system exists in
the world.
They are as follows:
1. Transaction Processing system (TPS)
2.Management information system (MIS)
3.Decision support system (DSS)
13. Q: Explain the role of system analyst.
• The person who is System analyst performs many types of
role that are given below.
CHANGE AGENT:
• There is a only a one thing is constant is the change in our
routine life.
• Business environment is ever changing and it is very
dynamic in nature.
• So it is necessary for every organization to establish such
changes as per the requirement of the society.
14. • Without such changes it is difficult for an organization to
survive for the longer period of the time in the market.
• System analyst is responsible to introduce such changes in
the organization to improve effectiveness, efficiency and the
productivity of an organization.
A MOTIVATOR:
• System analyst is motivating user to understand and to
operate the system in the working area.
• He clarified the importance of the use of the system to
improve the business activities.
• A good motivator has to be a good psychologist to
understand the nature of the user.
15. AN ARCHITECT:
• He prepares the logical structure of the final system.
• He builds the standards and the specifications based on
blue print of the final system.
AN ORGANIZER:
• He identifies the sequence of the activities ,purpose and co
sequence of the final system.
• He is responsible for execution of all activities and events.
16. A SALES PERSON:
• He needs to sell his ideas and thoughts to the top
management personnel and th system users to make the
convince about the selection of the new system.
• System selling is an easy task.
• To sell system he should be a good communicator.
