Last Monday I filmedthe openingscene withthe cake againbecause lasttime itwasquite messy
and the creditswere atthe beginningandtheywentonfor a longtime.Ibroughtthe cake and I put
it onthe tableclothonmytable andI usedthe same alcohol as lasttime.Thistime Icut a piece of
cake sothat it wouldlooklike the murdererate the cake afterhe begankillingthe victims.Iadded
some bloodontothe cake,the bottle of wine andthe knife.
Last time the knife keptslidingintothe cake anddidn’tstaywhere Iput itso thistime I had a
toothpickandI put iton the cake to holdthe knife inplace.Ialsohad anotherwayto make sure it
stayedinplace,whichwasbalancingthe topof the knife,the handle,onthe wine glassthatwassat
nextto the cake.I forgotto buy more candlesbecause Iwasso busy,butI didhave anotheridea to
make it lookreallycreepy.Iswitchedthe kitchenlightsoff anditbecame reallydarkinthe room.I lit
a match and useditto draw a circle around the topof the cake,so that it slightlylitupthe cake but
was still darksoit lookedverycreepy. Iwashappywithmyideabecause itlooksreallyterrifyingand
I alsowant to use itin mycredits.I decidedthatIdo not neednamesonthe openingcreditsbecause
I will putthe namesonthe endcreditstosave time at the start of the filmandto make the
introductionquicker.Iputthe title onlybecause Iwantthe beginningcreditstobe fast.
I’mcontinuingtoeditthe subtitlesandIam beingcareful withcoloursandfontbecause Iwantthe
subtitlestohave exactlythe same colourandfont.If I make a mistake withthe subtitlesthenitwill
lookmessy.Sometimes,Iwasstrugglingwiththe actor’slinesbecause forexample:Iwantedone girl
to say “Oh mygod! That’sBen!”but actuallyshe said“I justwonderif that’sRichard” that isnot the
correct line inmyscriptand that isa line thatshe made up.I thoughtthat the hearingpeople who
don’tunderstandsignlanguage willnotknow if some of the wordsandsignsdon’tmatch and I
changedsubtitlestosay“Oh mygod! That’sBen!”insteadof herline.Nexttime,Iwill force the
actors to followthe exactlinesfrommyscript,andgetthemto do itagain if theysayit wrong.
I decidedsome subtitleslike “screaming”,“shouting”,“laughing”andsome others,Iusedawhite
colourbecause theyare not talkingandtheylike getattention.Ionlyputsome colouronsubtitles
whenthe actors were talking.Thatissame as othersfilmsthathave subtitles,theyinclude brackets
like (Screaming),(Panting),(Yelling)and(Whispering)sothatthe audience know whatthe actor’s
reactionis.I thinkthatis goodideabecause thatis Deaf culture,if Idon’tuse the bracketsandsound
effectsthenmyDeaf audience don’tknow whattheirreactionsare.Thatisimportantforthe Deaf
people.

You can see twopicturesof the cake. The firstone,I thoughtitlookedlike comedyhorrorbecause it
isbrightand lookslike ahappymood.There is nobloodand the knife ishidingbehindthe cake.I
firstthoughtthat itlookedquite scarybutwhenI agreedtofilmingagainIthinkthe secondone
looksmuchbetterand more terrifyingbecausethere isbloodcoveringeverythingandthe knife is
stabbedintothe cake.That makesme feel like itisverychillingbecause thereisadark room with
justone litmatch aroundthe cake and it lookslike the killereatsa piece of cake.I love thatscene
and I will be puttingitonthe beginningcredits.
