think it would suit being a
performance. My artist would be
looking into the distance away from
the camera singing. Thus appearing to
be lost in thought like she is retelling a
story.

People ask me how I've been
As I comb back through my
memory,

◦ During this verse narrative will be used
in the video. In this shot the main girl
will be shown at a dinner with her
friends staring at the door waiting.
There will then be a shot of the clock
letting the audience know what the
time is. This references the lyrics ‘eye
on the door’ and ‘time is ticking’.

Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no one to impress,
And they're all laughing,
As I'm looking around the room,
But there's one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.
And the hours pass by,

visually shown as narrative. My artist will
be shown visibly not having a good time
whilst all her friends are.
◦ It will then go to a performance of the
girl looking into the camera singing. Thus
showing the emotion on her face

◦ For this part of the verse narrative will
used and there will be a shot of the girl in
the bathroom with friends. She will then
admit to them whats bugging her. This
references ‘As I say hopelessly “He said
he’d be here”’.

performance. I think this will suit the
lyrics as there will be a visual to them
i.e. the dinner. Also the performance
will show the artist describing what is
happening.
◦ For the artist to be able to show
emotion and make the audience relate
to what she is singing, I think that
performance would be most suitable.
My artist would be singing to the
camera so that the audience can feel
every word and see the emotion
across her face.
