PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Cricket Wireless (AT&T): Greensboro, Burlington, Winston-Salem, NC 2007 – 2016
Store Manager
Led and managed fifteen sales and support employees. Rotated among four stores over a nine-year
period. Provided products and services through the company-owned retail distribution channel.
Won National Contest in 2007 for sales increase of 45% over the prior year.
Increased average revenue per customer from $48 to $54 by focusing on higher rate plans and
add-on products (Music, Insurance, International, and Data).
Launched two new products: Broadband Internet and Muve Music, surpassing company targets
by more than 20% as a result of training all personnel, setting daily goals, and coaching for
improved performance.
Maintained inventory shrink in all assigned locations to less than 0.60% (company goal was
> 0.75%) through increased watchfulness by store personnel and random spot checks.
Took a brand-new store format with no corporate-designed planogram, and created my own eye-
catching displays.
Effectively managed two separate stores for the company simultaneously on two different
occasions.
Turned around three locations that were operationally deficient in many areas related to inventory
shrink and cash handling, without losing sales focus.
Recruited, hired, and trained staff.
Increased community visibility by participating in community events such as National Night Out
and Rebuilding Together as well as judging High School Marketing competitions at annual NC
DECA meetings.
Developed a daily cash/credit audit procedure after the company switched to a new computer
platform; upon confirmation of the accuracy of the process, I taught it to other managers.

an honor awarded for sales and profit management. Repeated the award the following year.
Managed Asheboro, NC store to its first $1,000,000 sales year.
Achieved regular sales increases, many times to double digits, over the same period from the
prior year; final assignment achieved annual sales of over $1,350,000.
Won five company contest trips through overall sales increases or sales of specific products
(twice for wireless phone sales, once for satellite television sales).
Twice took over stores that had deteriorated, turning them into profitable operations.
Achieved net profit of 25%; at that time, the company target was 14%.
Recognized for having lowest payroll expense in district: 9.2% (at that time, target was 10%.
District was averaging 11.8%)
Managed cash, inventory, and paperwork functions within company guidelines, reporting
anomalies to management or loss prevention when warranted; on two occasions, my efforts
discovered dishonest employee activity that was causing financial loss.
Managed a store P&L statement that included transaction-level detail.
Managed the relocation of one store into a new space with a completely different product layout.
