Quality Management
• Case Coordination Center role:
Repatriation of Kaiser Permanente patient who presents in a non-Kaiser
facility back to Kaiser is one of the functions of Kaiser Permanente Case
Coordination Center. Call monitoring is one of the measures used to improve
the quality of service.
A. Performs and conducts call monitoring for Registered Nurses in the
Emergency Prospective Review Program.
B. Facilitates and manages cases for Peer and Department review to improve
the quality of care/services provided to KP members and ensure patient safety
during the repatriation process.
• Offering years of diverse nursing experience, including hospital staff nursing in
areas of medical, surgical, critical care, emergency care, post-operative care and
a nurse consultant in Quality and Risk Management at KP Southern California
region. Recently, a Quality Coordinator at KP Case Coordination Center.
• Collaborates with Quality Directors in reporting Performance Improvement report
updates for Southern California senior leadership.
• Collaborates with Nursing Executives in development of corrective action plans
for quality measures such as hospital falls and central line blood stream
infections to assist compliance with patient safety KP goals.
• Partners with Regional Compliance officers and KP medical centers Quality
Directors in determination and resolution of quality care issues identified via
Hotline Compliance calls.
• Facilitates and corresponds with SCAL leaders for Regional Quality Improvement
Committee (RQIC), Regional Transplant Committee (RTQC), and Regional Peer
2. Review Oversight Committee (RPROC). Assists in identifying areas needing
improvements and collaborates with SCAL regional leaders in developing
recommendations to resolve issues identified.
• Partners with Clinical Consulting Department on Domestic Violence Study (2011
– 2012)
• Assist in Surgical Center site visits to demonstrate oversight of contracted
facilities (2011 – 2012)
• Manages approval process for Medical Center Trilogy documents including
aggregate report to KP Southern California Quality Committee (SCQC) from 2007
-2013
• Develops quarterly KPSC aggregate reports to KPNQC (KP National Quality
Committee) and QHIC (Quality Health Improvement Committee) Board meetings
from 2007 – December 2015

Risk Management: 2012 - 2015
• Manages SCAL Legal Closed Claims cases and processes/facilitates referral of
those cases for peer/department review by Medical Centers.
• Assist KP Program Office legal department in providing responses for inquiries
received from DMHC enforcement agency related to SCAL claims cases which
received negative arbitration awards in favor of the complainant.
• Provides SCPMG Counsel with peer/nursing review outcomes when California
Medical Board or Nursing Board will take action (such as license suspension) or
an accusation notice is received involving a physician or an RN.
Hotline Compliance Calls: Facilitates investigation of calls placed on Hotline
Compliance line related to quality of care provided to our members.
