o Incident report review turnaround time (TAT) dropped by ~ 97% (232.5 days to 6.35 days)
o Incident reports closed within 10 days increased from 23% to 91%
 Implemented telemetry monitoring on a surgical unit.
o During the implementation, 98% associates were successful in certification.
o Patient Satisfaction: Nurses Overall: 86.5 to 89.5
o Patient Satisfaction: Staff address emotional needs: 81.7 to 86.7
 Outstanding Work Life (O.W.L.) team.
o Restraint Usage dropped from 9.75 to 2.26%
o Compliance of charting towards the plan of care went from 34.3% to 81.7%
o Number of vacant FTE’s fell 57%
 Patient satisfaction scores improved drastically:
o Response to call lights improved from 69.6 to 89.3
o Overall nursing score improved from 80.1 to 91.0
o Friendliness of staff improved from 88.8 to 94.4
 Alignment of skin care program to evidence based medicine and implemented Quarterly
Prevalence and Incidence studies
o Reduction of number of patients from 107 in February 2007 to 29 in April 2007
o Savings for cost per outcome reduced from $286.55 to $174.36 (~39% reduction versus the
prior year.
o Wound incidence rates dropped from 22% to 7.9% within 6 months of project
implementation
