1. For my film opening title sequence, I was told to take pictures of myself using the camera while
filming my sequence so i did. Though I wasn’t able to do it for the shots outside due to the
lighting and no time left. I was able to take the pictures of me using a camera inside because I
did the inside shots first and there was good lighting.
Most of my shots were filmed inside but there was a few shots that i never used, filming inside
was also the easiest as we were not waiting for distractions from filming (Like Cars driving past
or people walking by) so the filming went by quite quickly but it did take much longer than the
shots outside as there were many shots to film and multiple retakes of shots to try and get the
shot perfect.
One problem with filming was that the actors in the show weren’t as professional as i would of
liked them to be so some shots had to be retaken due to laughter because they were doing the
shot inappropriately. Though it didn’t take long to finally get the shot as i wanted it to be, it did
waste time though which wasn’t good for the other shots as i may not have had enough time for
them but fortunately i did. This only occurred during the filming inside and not outside so that
was also fortunate for me, it was also the only real problem i faced while filming and i did
manage to resolve it so the actors would behave.
Filming for this took around 2 hours as i did quite a lot of shots and retakes, which put pressure
on me for filming outside because i wanted enough time to film outside and for it not to be dark.
I followed the same process though as i did with my outside shots, checked the camera to see if
it had the appropriate F stop and Aperture settings to be filmed outside and after that i did my
filming I plugged the camera into my computer and previewed the videos to see if they were in
good quality and fortunately for me, they were so then i was able to finish the inside filming and
move on to filming outside.
Editing for the inside shots was alot easier than the outside because i knew how exactly i
wanted it to go like. This doesn’t mean i didn’t know how i wanted the outside shots to look like,
it just means i went through a lot of different edits with the outside ones compared to the shots
inside where i knew exactly what i wanted to do so it was pretty to easy to edit. The hardest
thing to edit out of all the inside shots was of the neck slice shot, I wanted for it to slow down
from the moment the antagonist slits the victims neck but not exactly how it came out. I used the
effect timewarp and instead of only slowing done a small clip it slowed down the entire video
and the timewarp also added a blur styled effect to the video and i really liked it and thought it
suited the video so i decided to stay with it instead of changing it, after viewing it in the final
product i thought it worked really well. The inside shots were the shots i edited last though
because i knew what i wanted to do and didn’t really need to add much of an effect besides an
adjustment layer.
Though in my opinion though filming inside took the longest, it was the most fun to do as I got a
lot of enjoyment out of doing it with my friends. Though they messed around, they were really
helpful as they volunteered to help out and wouldn’t of been able to do it without them, hopefully
2. with the next thing i have to film I would have learned from the mistakes from making this and
make sure i don’t do the
same thing again.
