The document describes the development of the author's production skills throughout a school project. It discusses improvements in camera work from shaky, uneven footage without a tripod in early work to more focused filming with transitions in the final piece. It also covers gaining skills in blogging, editing footage down to 2 minutes using Final Cut Pro, composing suspenseful music in GarageBand after research, and learning to screen and voice record using QuickTime Player and iMovie.
3. Comparing my final piece to my
preliminary task…
My preliminary task was the first time I had properly filmed and edited a series
of footage.
Therefore, I think it it clear to see that this was the first time I had ever filmed
because the filming is shaky and mostly at an uneven angle.
4. In my final piece, I felt as though my filming improved immensely.
I used a tripod to avoid the shakiness of the camera.
My filming was more in focus.
The transitions between my scenes were more effective and sophisticated.
6. I used blogger.com to create a document of my AS media coursework
process.
I had never made a blog before so this was all very new to me.
I learnt how to choose a style, change fonts, add in media and publish
this all onto the internet for everyone else to see.
I really enjoyed creating a blog and researching about different thriller
conventions.
8. Editing my film took a while, but it was an enjoyable process as I
eliminated lots of my weaker footage, considering that I had to get the
filming down to just 2 minutes.
I used FinalCutPro to edit and put together all my filming.
I had never used this software before, so had to play around with the
filters, effects, transitions and titles to find the perfect ones for my film.
10. I used the apple software GarageBand to create the perfect suspenseful
music for my thriller.
After doing lots of research on conventional thriller music, I knew the type
of music I wanted to create but didn’t know how to do it.
I looked up on youtube a tutorial on GarageBand and used the skills its
taught me on there to create the music for my thriller.
12. Previously I had only used Quick Time Player to watch movies on, but my
teacher showed me how to screen record and voice record using this
software, and this helped me a lot throughout my coursework process.
I used screen and voice recording for questions 1 and 2 of my evualtion,
where I recorded clips of my thriller, other youtube thrillers and my voice.
I then added these all together on iMovie to create an answer to the
questions.
