Guidelines: How to use the Learning Tools
on the MOOC and to set up the
Online course on the website

WHAT IS THE MOOC?
 Massive: Unlimited participants.
 Open: Free, not limited by
geography, accessible, no
prerequisites, content is shared.
 Online: Internet based; may also
work with mobile technology.
 Courses: Learning is involved and
grading may be possible .
Which Platform?
CourseSites https://www.coursesites.com
CourseSites is powered by the latest Blackboard
Learn technology, along with aspects of
Blackboard Mobile, Blackboard Collaborate
and Blackboard Connect. The majority of
powerful core features of these technologies are
available at no cost to use by individual teachers
and students at all levels but supports
collaboration to co-teach a course, simply using
the Course Invitation tool to send an invitation to
join CourseSites as instructor.
THE MOOC STRUCTURE
The course will have Modules based on
the four curriculum units, as well as a
start-up module about technology and
learning environment orientation
activities and , at the end , a module
dedicated to the final assessment and
evaluation of the course.
Each Module will contain:
 - learning outputs: a short
description about what the
participants will know or will be
able to do after taking these
activities;
 - a learning activity dedicated for
each topic, based on the learning
tools created;
 - at least a synthesis activity ,
based on the study case, a story
about good practice experience
, which may refer to many
issues of this module or other
modules or topics;
 - one evaluation activity (a quiz,
based on the information
contained in the learning tools).

THE LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR EACH TOPIC

IENE7 Slideshare channel
• It may include short videos and animations
(from Youtube or IENE7 channel) and link to
Internet mapped resources
Reading the Learning tool
(focused on information)
• read information on Internet (link to to the
mapped resources)
• do assignments
Self learning and co- learning
tasks
(focused on developing skills)
• discussion on the boards
• reflective entry on blogs, wikis
MOOC Community activities
(focused on developing
attitude/behavious)
•The MOOC participants will be encouraged
to use these media for learning and
networking .
•These tools will be used also for online
course (replacing the MOOC tools)
External activities on social
media (IENE 7 Blog, Twitter or
Facebook pages) .

Partners will collect training/learning/evaluation materials in
CC license or develop content themselves other materials
relating to the proposed modules and topics:
INTERNET MAPPING
The resources will be groupped by the Modules and topics.
For each topic, will be a leading organization.
The leading organization will conduct mapping exercises to find relevant
training/learning/evaluation materials in CC license and other materials relating to the topic,
on Internet, such as text, files, audio, video, quiz, recommended links etc. – mainly
For each Topic , will be created a List of the learning/training resources, containing : the
name of the resources , a short description, the type/form of presentation, language, link to
the address where can be accessed and circulate to the partners;(Annex 1)
Each partner will will identify relevant resources in their languages and send to the leading
organizations to add to the list;
The final Lists in all partners’ languages will be uploaded on the website (on the OER
section).

A database will be created on the project's website in
the form of a repository which will be used to set up
the MOOC.
 For each topic , will be created a
Learning tool – a PPT with information
divided in many sequences, organized in
an attractive form, with links to additional
resources, which may embed Youtube
videos, animation sand quizzes .
 The learning tools will be adapted and
posted on the project learning platform in
the form of easy to navigate course,
available in all partners’ languages.
 This course will be also accessible
through the Mobile APP.
 These created resources will used to set
up the online massive Open Online
course (MOOC).

ABOUT TRANSLATION
 All te documents to be translated within IENE7 project will be listed in teh
folder ”To translate/Learning Tools”
 The file name is always composed by : learning Tool_Module no_Topic
no_ + symbol of the language (eg. Learning Tool_Module2_Topic1_EN)
 When translating, do not change the format and the links!
 The PPTs will contains forms which must to be translate
 After translated a document, it will be saved with the same name , by
replacing the symbol of the language ( EN) with RO, IT, or ES;
 The file of the document translated will be uploaded on Dropbox, in the right
folder;
 Then, Edunet will upload them on the Slideshare;

Guide to using learning tools on MOOC and setting up online course (<40

  • 1. Action Plan O3: Guidelines: How to use the Learning Tools on the MOOC and to set up the Online course on the website This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. WHAT IS THE MOOC?  Massive: Unlimited participants.  Open: Free, not limited by geography, accessible, no prerequisites, content is shared.  Online: Internet based; may also work with mobile technology.  Courses: Learning is involved and grading may be possible . Which Platform? CourseSites https://www.coursesites.com CourseSites is powered by the latest Blackboard Learn technology, along with aspects of Blackboard Mobile, Blackboard Collaborate and Blackboard Connect. The majority of powerful core features of these technologies are available at no cost to use by individual teachers and students at all levels but supports collaboration to co-teach a course, simply using the Course Invitation tool to send an invitation to join CourseSites as instructor.

THE MOOC STRUCTURE The course will have Modules based on the four curriculum units, as well as a start-up module about technology and learning environment orientation activities and , at the end , a module dedicated to the final assessment and evaluation of the course. Each Module will contain:  - learning outputs: a short description about what the participants will know or will be able to do after taking these activities;  - a learning activity dedicated for each topic, based on the learning tools created;  - at least a synthesis activity , based on the study case, a story about good practice experience , which may refer to many issues of this module or other modules or topics;  - one evaluation activity (a quiz, based on the information contained in the learning tools). Week 1 Introduction Week 1: Cultural awareness Week 3 Cultural sensitivity Week 4: Cultural knowledge Week 5 : Cultural competence Week 6: Evaluation

THE LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR EACH TOPIC WILL CONTAIN • Power Point Presentation embedded from IENE7 Slideshare channel • It may include short videos and animations (from Youtube or IENE7 channel) and link to Internet mapped resources Reading the Learning tool (focused on information) • read information on Internet (link to to the mapped resources) • do assignments Self learning and co- learning tasks (focused on developing skills) • discussion on the boards • reflective entry on blogs, wikis MOOC Community activities (focused on developing attitude/behavious) •The MOOC participants will be encouraged to use these media for learning and networking . •These tools will be used also for online course (replacing the MOOC tools) External activities on social media (IENE 7 Blog, Twitter or Facebook pages) .

TRAINING/LEARNING/EVALUATION RESOURCES INTERNET MAPPING ( List for each topic) • weblinks • files • images • audio • videos • Slideshare PPTs • quizz • apps Learning/Teaching TOOLS to be created (for each module, as minimum, translated in all languages) •Lesson plan (1/module) •video/movie/animation message (1/unit) •Learning tools – PPT (1/topic) •selected pieces of reading on internet ,with assignment and/or discussion or blogging tasks(1/topic ) •for synthesis activity - good practice examples - video, audio, text with assignment and/or discussion or blogging tasks •Test (quizz) Assessment/ Evaluation TOOLS (translated in all languages) • Pre-MOOC Questionnaire • Post-Mooc Questionnaire • Course evaluation Questionnaire • Badges • Summative assignment (template) Partners will collect training/learning/evaluation materials in CC license or develop content themselves other materials relating to the proposed modules and topics:
  • 6. INTERNET MAPPING The resources will be groupped by the Modules and topics. For each topic, will be a leading organization. The leading organization will conduct mapping exercises to find relevant training/learning/evaluation materials in CC license and other materials relating to the topic, on Internet, such as text, files, audio, video, quiz, recommended links etc. – mainly For each Topic , will be created a List of the learning/training resources, containing : the name of the resources , a short description, the type/form of presentation, language, link to the address where can be accessed and circulate to the partners;(Annex 1) Each partner will will identify relevant resources in their languages and send to the leading organizations to add to the list; The final Lists in all partners’ languages will be uploaded on the website (on the OER section).

EVALUATION TOOLS The evaluation tools which will be create are: Evaluation grille Pre-MOOC Questionnair e Post-Mooc Questionnair e Course evauation Questionnaire Badges Assessment quizzes (1/module) Grading the participants(t emplate) The resposible of this work package is EDUNET . The evaluation tools will be uploaded on the website (online course/Evaluation module)

HOW THE RESOURCES WILL BE USED • Internet Mapped Resources Training/learning/asses sment resources •Lists grouped by modules on topics on OER section •Evaluation tools in Online course (Evaluation module) Uploaded on the Website • Embedding the resources on the learning activites Used to set up the MOOC (O8) • Link to the resources for additional information Used in Learning tools A database will be created on the project's website in the form of a repository which will be used to set up the MOOC.
  • 10.  For each topic , will be created a Learning tool – a PPT with information divided in many sequences, organized in an attractive form, with links to additional resources, which may embed Youtube videos, animation sand quizzes .  The learning tools will be adapted and posted on the project learning platform in the form of easy to navigate course, available in all partners’ languages.  This course will be also accessible through the Mobile APP.  These created resources will used to set up the online massive Open Online course (MOOC). SUGGESTED STRUCTURE OF THE LEARNING TOOLS  Power Point presentations will be uploaded on the Slide share channel (www.slideshare.com) Title (Sheet 1) Summary (Sheet 2) Content (3- 20 sheets) • Topic’s short title • Suggestive image (optional) • Project logo/EU flag/disclaimer • What should learn in this tool ? (learning outputs) • List of concepts/issues • Sequential info sheets, for each issue ,with links to additional information • Videos/animations embedded as separate sheets • Last sheet - Conclusion of essential information • Sheets with a question/quiz and answers (optional)

CREATING THE LEARNING TOOLS TIPS  Information divided in many bite sized sequences  Links to additional resources , for more information –  Translating without change the format and links  Upload on SlideShare Channel  Embed Youtube videos, animation (after uploaded on Slideshare)  Information adapted to the level and specific of target groups  Few text, with essential information  Using the Word Shapes and attractive SmartArt forms to organize the content (easy to be translated)  Using suggestive images  Text visible (font over 12)  Using a common template for all PPTs

ABOUT TRANSLATION  All te documents to be translated within IENE7 project will be listed in teh folder ”To translate/Learning Tools”  The file name is always composed by : learning Tool_Module no_Topic no_ + symbol of the language (eg. Learning Tool_Module2_Topic1_EN)  When translating, do not change the format and the links!  The PPTs will contains forms which must to be translate  After translated a document, it will be saved with the same name , by replacing the symbol of the language ( EN) with RO, IT, or ES;  The file of the document translated will be uploaded on Dropbox, in the right folder;  Then, Edunet will upload them on the Slideshare;
