2. Process
• This is my layout and there are different things that make this
stand out and different methods I have used.
3. The background
• I have chosen this background as it is very girly
and very vintage kind of look.
• Also the pattern and bright colours on a white
background make the page stand out massively
which is what we want as the page needs to be
noticed.
• I have brightened the background to make it
lighter so that the black writing stood out more
as no colours stood out really well on the original
colour of the background.
4. text
• I used the normal font (calibri (body) ) I used
this because it stands out really well on its
own and is easy to read for people that cant
read complicated writing, basically keeping it
simple.
• I put the bold effect on to make it stand out
even more as it will be less thin and hard to
catch with such a busy background.
5. framing
• I didn’t change the framing of the pictures drastically as
I didn’t want to make it over the top so I just did a
shadow effect as is I was slightly raised
• The only other option I would choose would be to have
it like photo frames as the background looks like a
wallpaper print which could make the whole thing have
a certain theme about it as shown on the second and
last picture with different styles of framing I could use.
I could use either way but I will leave that to see what
looks better with my own pictures that I will take with
my own model.
6. Picture colouring
• In these pictures I haven’t done much but slightly
enhance the colouring on the first picture there has
been no alteration, this is what I am hoping I can do
with the pictures I get but if not I can use smoothers or
light filters to make the pictures less sharp on the eyes
if the lighting is too bright, I shouldn’t think that the
lighting is going to be too sharp as am using natural
lighting if its possible if not I will be using a bright light
which is when I could most likely has sharp pictures.
• On the last two pictures I used a dull filter to make it
seem more like winter as winter doesn’t have sunny
days as much as in summer so had to tone it down
slightly.
7. Layout
• I decided that I am going to make the pictures a
different levels to ‘jazz it up’ slightly so that it
isn’t all basic as children aren't basic so neither
should there clothes page. Am also writing the
prices and names of the shop/the item of
clothing I am trying to sell underneath the
pictures where a standard magazine would put
these. If I put the prices all over the page it makes
it very confusing and frustrating for the person
reading so if there always in the same place it will
make life easier for the readers.
8. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in
your final product?
• I would like to use the same background as it really sets
a picture up in my head on what we can do with the
final magazine page, also I think I am going to use the
idea of the photo frame look and make it look as
though the pictures are on a wall to make a proper
theme. In honesty I want to take all the main ideas of
the experiment to my final product as they all make a
good page spread and have all come from my original
thoughts on what I was wanting to do.
