These are the results from the first question asked to the TA, from
the results I can see there is a split answer for the question. The
narrative could be understood, however it was found confusing by
one. Although, one has a in the middle opinion, he says “kind of”,
this shows that it was understood but not fully. To make it more
understandable, we could have focused more on the narrative and
develop it more to make sure it made more sense to the viewer/TA.

that the female audience understands the narrative more than the
male. This could be because they find it more relatable or they have
seen this before. With there being more of the audience who
understood it, it means that the narrative was easy to follow,
however it could still be adjusted to appeal to both males and

Which did you prefer, the performance or
narrative shots and why?
This could link back to the first question, because there were a few
that didn’t understand the narrative, this can be seen in the results
of this, however that might not be the case for that. These results
do show that the performance shots were the preferred shots.
There are different reasons for there choices, for example one of
them preferred the narratives shots, because the performance
shots were very dark, compared to another who chose performance
shots, because of a range of locations for them.

The results from this is very similar to the male results. There is a
mixed opinion of what was preferred in the music video. Again there
are mixed reasons why they have chosen this as their favourite. For
example, one chose there most preferred to be performance shots,
because the band were very convincing and the shots looked
better, another who chose the narrative said it looks very effective.
This gives me positive feedback towards the results, however no
negative which doesn't give any reason to improve on this area.

In the music video there was a range between both cuts and
dissolves, so it gave the TA a sample of each and which one may
look better, the results show that the cuts were most effective. This
is the best one to use for a quick, upbeat song, which was what was
chosen. I am happy with these results and I feel I don’t need to
improve the MV to suit these results.

mixed opinion and I feel that the music video will appeal to them
because of the range of different transitions.

There is a split opinion with the male TA, for example half say yes
and the other no, however there are reasons behind this which
gives me feedback on what could be developed to make it more
appealing or more suitable to the TA. The negative results, for
example the parts played by the actors weren't well understood,
which can link back to the narrative not being understood and that
led to not understanding their parts.

this we can see that the female TA understands this more.

What was your favourite shot and why?
There is a mixed opinion on their favourite shots, which is good to
see, because it shows we used a range of appealing shots that the
target audience would like. Each male gave a reason as well behind
their option, for example thee tunnel was a favourite, because it
was dramatic and effective and an interesting shot, another reason
was the barn shot fit well to the music video.

This again includes mixed opinions, which makes me fell happy to
have a range of locations that were enjoyed by the TA. A reason
behind one of the locations was the tunnel shot, because the light
around his body looked great and another was the band on the
roadside, because it was unique. I feel that I catered for both
genders when it came to the locations/shots.

There is a mixed response from the TA. Its a split view on the final
question, showing that some didn't understand it. I feel this could
link right back to the beginning, to the first question, because if they
didn't understand the narrative then this would answer this question
as well.

14. To collect this data I used a paper survey, this is reliable because I know the
age and gender of the TA who filled it out. This gave me a good layout to
see the differences between the two. I can also put as much detail into the
question as I need or I can be straight to the point to get a basic answer.
However, if I add on why to the end of the question, it makes the TA expand
on what they’re answer is.
I feel that I could have used a different way of getting TA research, for
example social media or personal messages direct to the TA. This will give
me an in depth answer and will give me more than one reason in what could
be included or developed.
