Question 3:
What have you learned from
your audience feedback?
In order to obtain feedback, we created a questionnaire. We
decided on a questionnaire as it can be done individually,
therefore people will not be influenced by other peoples
opinions. The questionnaire included we included 5 questions
about the main documentary and the 2 ancillary tasks. In total 3
people answered the question in the questionnaire.
We decided to send the questionnaire to a variety of people,
including teenagers and parents, we decided this as our
documentary is aimed at teenagers and parents and by getting
feedback from them allows us to see if our documentary is
successful in entertaining/engaging the target audience.
On the following slides will be the separate questions and
peoples replies.
Question one:
What part of
the
documentary
did you like?
Answer one: I liked the montage scene at the
beginning as I felt it clearly showed what the aim of
your documentary was.
Answer
I liked the voice over as the person spoke very
clearly making it easy to understand what they were
saying. Additionally, most of the scenes in the
montage clearly linked to what was being said.
Answer
I like that the documentary includes a female and a
male teenager as this shows that both genders
game.

Question two:
What parts of
my
documentary
do you think
could be
improved?
The final interview’s is bad quality therefore making
the documentary seem less professional.

I think the scene with the game related crimes
could have included more of the different crimes
and not the beginning of the article as this does not
include the crimes themselves.

I think the shots of the teacher could have been
framed better as the top of the screen is cut off.

What are your
opinions on the
final version of
the radio?
I think the radio trailer sound very professional, and
I can imagine hearing it on an actual radio station.

I like the game sounds used as a background as it
gives the radio a background layer so it doesn’t
sound boring.

I clips used are clear and show clearly that the
documentary is about gaming.

What are your
opinions on the
final versions of
the digital
advertisement?
I think the digital advertisement is very creative and
clearly links to your documentary.

I think the advertisement could have been a little bit
better as the edges around the person are fairly
rough making it stand out, maybe more time could
have been spent on it.

I like that the digital advertisement includes a
female as this shows that gaming is for males and
females.

Question five: Do
you think both
the ancillary task
compliment the
documentary?
I think both the task compliment the documentary
as they clearly show the aim of the documentary.

I think don’t think a radio advert is the best way to
advertise a documentary as it is not common for
documentaries to be advertised on a radio station.
Answer
I think both the task are creative and show the
theme of the documentary clearly.
Answer
From looking at my feedback I can see that our documentary has a clear story line
and that it appeals to our different target audiences. However, the feedback showed
that certain parts of our documentary were not as good as they could be.
Things people liked:
 The voice over
 The montage scene
 The background sound used in the radio advert
Things that could have been better:
 The quality of some of the scenes
 The edges of the person could have been cleaner
 The framing of some of the scenes
People felt that both of the ancillary tasks complemented the documentary as they
linked well, however some felt that the advert was better. We believe his is because
Channel 4 are known for their digital adverts and do not often make radio adverts for
documentaries.
I think if we were to redo this project we would take more
time when filming and make sure that the main focus is in
the centre of the shot. Additionally, we would not create a
radio advertisement as documentaries are not commonly
advertised on radios, we think that a television advert would
be more suitable for a documentary. Finally, I think we would
spend more time on the digital advertisement so that it
would be made to look more professional, also we would
make multiple different versions using different people as
this would show that the documentary is aimed at a variety
of people.
