Genre: Pop
Type of Video: Performance
Purpose of Video: This video is to promote
Madcon. They released their first song in 2000
and now they are getting back into the charts.
What’s inspirational: Some of the editing
techniques used which I could possibly use for
my video.
Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?
Genre: Pop
Type of Video: Narrative / Performance
Purpose of Video: This music video is to
promote Justin Bieber.
What’s inspirational: The storyline is different
and unoriginal compared to other music videos.
I also like the lighting used. There a some
concepts of this video I can add to my video.

3. Duke Dumont – I Got U ft. Jax Jones
Genre: Deep House
Type of Video: Narrative
Purpose of Video: To promote Dukes music and
himself.
What’s inspirational: Majority of the music
video is shot in first person which is different
compared to other music videos. I could also
use this in my video.
Jack U – Where Are U Now ft. Justin Bieber
Genre: Electronic Dance
Type of Video: Conceptual / Performance
Purpose of Video: To get the viewers /
audience to know who Jack U are and to
promote their debut album.
What’s inspirational: Their video altogether is
unique as its completely different to other
music videos.

Purpose of Video: Promote David Guetta.
What’s inspirational: The video being shown in
a animated / cartoon effect wants me to learn
how do to this.
Avicci – The Nights
Genre: Progressive House
Type of Video: Performance
Purpose of Video: the music video is to
promote Aviccis’ up and coming album.
What’s inspirational: The whole music video is
done hand-held and with a GoPro.

Purpose of Video: To reflect on Eds’ life and for
the audience to feel sympathy for him.
What’s inspirational: In this particular video Ed
has used photographs from the past (hence the
name photograph) to create a story of him
growing up.
Ed Sheeran – A Team
Genre: Indie Folk
Type of Video: Narrative
Purpose of Video: To promote Ed and his
album. This was also his debut song that got
him recognised.
What’s inspirational: The video is very simple
and easy to make.

Purpose of Video: To promote their album and
themselves. This was their debut song.
What’s inspirational: The idea of having self
reflexivity is an idea I would like involve in my
video.
Black Veil Brides – Fallen Angels

Purpose of Video: To sell themselves and get
them know. This song did make it into the ‘Top
40.’
What’s inspirational: The effects used with the
green screen.

What’s inspirational: the amount of bright
colours used to give a warm atmosphere. It also
livens up the music video.

Purpose of Video: To promote their album and
themselves.
What’s inspirational: The retro effect used to
make the video look old fashioned.

What’s inspirational: Having the camera moving
around a single object is simple but very
effective.
Jess Glynne – Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself

Purpose of Video: The purpose of the video is
not only to promote Jess but she uses this video
to send a message as well.
What’s inspirational: I like the idea of a music
video sending a message to the audience.

was their only song they were known for.
What’s inspirational: The camera movements
used in the video; for example, pans.

promote Roll Deep and their album. This was
their debut song that they promote.

backdrop is a great idea that I might use in my

quite a indie rock group.
What’s inspirational: The overlay editing is an
inspirational idea I can use in my video.

What’s inspirational: The amount of effects
used is amazing in this video but I don’t think I

black and white gives a cold and dramatic

What’s inspirational: The effects used give an
abstract image; for example, “Where are U
