Summary
Prior to my career at AT&T, I accumulated extensive experience in the commercial printing industry. My journey started as a production
employee to a manager of an entire plant. Later on I added marketing and process engineering experience before transitioning to the
information technology industry.
Collectively, I present to you a dynamic individual with a strong record of achievement combining skills in diverse areas of organizational
development, group/staff leadership, program development and project management, and building partnerships. I am highly motivated
and intuitive, effective at human relations, and able to manage both time and resources to maximize productivity.
The Computer Merchant (Contractor) July 2003 to July 2004
Senior Network Engineer
Bank One Project
• Senior Technical Engineer for the “Switch” migration project team for Bank One. I was the technical point of contact for up to fifty
technicians.
• Teamed with Bank One Information Technical personnel to resolve problems during the project.
• Responsible for ensuring the data backup, operating system and equipment upgrade, and project documentation was completed
accurately and on time.
• Verified network connectivity, data integrity, and application assignment to Bank One users with post-migration Quality Assurance
processes.
Merrill Lynch Project
• Project Manager and Lead Engineer for many Type A2-C2 sized network cutovers. Responsible for leading up to four other
technicians while maintaining contact with AT&T network operations personnel.
• Conducted site surveys and new equipment testing prior to cutover date. I was responsible for planning for the placement of the
new network equipment plus ordering the electrical, cabling, and telecommunication (T1 lines) hardware.
• Removed legacy equipment. The legacy equipment list included up to thirteen Cisco Catalyst 5000 series switches, two Cisco 7500
series routers, two Cisco 4000 series routers, four Paradyne DSU/CSU’s, and six media converter boxes.
• Labeled and reorganized hundreds of Ethernet connections from the original networks. Special attention was required in this step
to promote accurate patching into the new switching equipment.
• Installed Cisco Catalyst 4506 switches and Cisco 3745 routers to accommodate present needs and future growth.
• Re-patched up to four hundred Ethernet connections into the new switching and routing equipment. Evenly divided each of the
original networks between the new switching and routing equipment for increased network stability.
• Successfully completed similar projects for companies such as General Motors, ADP, CitiBank, and Forest City Property
Management Corporation.
Sapphire Technologies (Contractor) June 2003 to July 2003
Network Engineer /Support Engineer
• Lead member of data migration and hardware deployment teams.
• Executed projects that dealt with multiple operating systems such as NT4, Win98, and Win2000 and updated it to a single
operating system such as Win2000-Pro or Win2000-XP. Upgraded the Microsoft Office Suite as well.
• Successfully completed projects for contracts for Motorola and OC Tanner. Demonstrated expertise in configuring TCP/IP
protocol, drive mapping, data relocation, and executing batch files.
• Provided hardware technical expertise to all computer, networking, and peripheral equipment. Ability to provide seamless
hardware exchange between desktop and laptop personal computers or any combination of the two.
• Verified network connectivity, data integrity, and application assignment to users once the data migration and hardware
deployment was complete. None of my clients experienced data loss.

• Provided set-up and technical support for the Common Access Card (CAC). These cards contain personal data and security level

Network Analyst/Support Engineer
• Test Cisco routing configurations to help CCIE certified instructors prepare for classroom lab assignments. Regularly work with
network protocols such as: RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, ISDN, Frame-Relay, and VoIP. Routing and Switching configurations done
on 2500, 2600, 3600, and 4000 series routers and 3550 catalyst switches.
• Provide networking technical assistance to students. Assisted in the configuration of Active Directory components such as: User
Accounts, Organizational Units, Distributed File Systems, DHCP, DNS, WINS, DFS, VPN, and Network Security. Developed IP
Address Schemes for Microsoft and Cisco labs.
• Provide technical expertise to all computer, networking, and peripheral equipment.
• Monitor network connectivity in the classrooms to ensure trouble-free classroom lab time.

Senior Process Engineer / Demonstration Center and Graphics Manager
• Managed technical services for clients and technicians.
• Designed and wrote print process technical training manuals and instructional aids.
• Provided print process technical training, research, troubleshooting, and field support for the Service and Service Support,
• Group, Sales and Sales Support Group, Consumables Marketing, other Graphic Arts Instructors, and for A.B. Dick Company
Dealers, Distributors, Business Partners, and Customers.
• Senior instructor for all Process Engineering seminars, classes, and customized technical training sessions.
• Provided consulting services to outside printers and Graphic Arts Instructors on internal process control management.
• Provided technical expertise on sales calls. My product and print process knowledge often resulted in securing the targeted sales
goal and frequently allowed A.B. Dick to gain deeper market penetration.
• Teamed with marketing and engineering to provide technical feedback on the performance of all printing equipment and supplies.
• Managed the efforts of marketing, sales, engineering, and construction companies toward building a state-of-the-art printshop
and demonstration center that exceeded A.B. Dick Company expectations.
• Managed marketing communications. I was the project manager whose responsibility was to qualify outside printing and supply
vendors, evaluate their performance, and maintain a tight production schedule.
• Acted as the corporate liaison between the advertising firm, print vendors, and A.B. Dick Company marketing and service groups. I
made sure the groups communicated with each other to ensure the print projects were done correctly and on time.
• Initiated and implemented a budget to ensure maximum return on investment for the print shop.
• Awarded with a valuable historical item from the 1880’s for my service with the company.
Clarke American, Glendale Heights, IL October 1983 to June 1997
Quality Assurance and Production Manager 1990 to 1997
• Responsible for staffing, planning, auditing, and reporting production and quality assurance trends and processes.
• Trained and developed personnel (up to fifty-two employees) in Total Quality Management, Quality Job Skills, and Statistical
Process Control. All training was based on Malcom-Baldridge criteria.
• Selected to facilitate in-plant training for Clarke American’s “First in Service” program. I was one of a few employees selected to
be a facilitator of the “First in Service” program. At the time, Clarke American had 2500 employees in almost thirty facilities.
• Based on input from customers and peers throughout the company, I won the Circle of Stars Award for management excellence.
My plant was number one in productivity and quality assurance. We reduced our order turn-around time from 48 hours to 14
hours – the best in the company.
• Initiated and perfected onsite processor studies at financial institutions. These studies focused on document rejection at the at
financial institutions main processing center. The goal was to fine-tune Clarke American’s print quality and to teach the customer
what to look for in a quality printed document (personal or business check). In turn, Clarke American gained market share as the
financial institutions ended contracts of lesser known printers.
• Participated in numerous corporate focus groups to increase production and quality assurance performance. For example, I co-
wrote a detailed in-plant internal process manual. The process manual standardized procedures for quality and production
performance across all departments. The manual was provided to all production facilities.

Production Manager 1985 to 1990
• Responsible for staffing, planning, auditing, and reporting production trends and processes for up to fifty-two employees spread
across a five day, 24 hour shift.
• Redesigned the plant production floor to simplify cross-departmental interaction.
• Developed a cross-training program to streamline the production line. Every employee was trained to master at least two
different production roles. For example, a press operator may have to help in the bindery department if production needs dictate
that move.
• Responsible for meeting and maintaining 100% same/next day delivery.
