Tell me in no more than20 words; what is yourFMP
idea?
I plan on making a short film exploring gender/identity
stereotypes
Why have youdecided to makeit? I have been asked to do a project regarding Grayson
Perry’s artwork and I have decided to make it in the
video format because this is the format I enjoy working
in the most and what will be useful at university. I have
decided to do it on gender and identity because I think
they are important topics and they both relate to each
other
What aboutyourproject makesit importanttoyou? This project is important to me because I am doing a
subject that is important to people so I want to do it well
and approach it with sensitivity. It is also important
because I have learnt new skills that I want to use in this
project that I didn’t get to do in the first year
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
I am basing this video off of Grayson Perry’s artwork as
part of an exhibition at York art gallery, so this will be
something to research to find a way to incorporate into
this project. So I will pick a few pieces of his artwork to
reference in my video
What effect do youwant to haveon youraudience
when they see yourproject?
I want the audience to be able to relate to some of the
partsof the videoalso I want to educate thosewho don’t
know much about the topic. I also want to keep it
exciting an interesting to keep people watching rather
than it being boring
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject [which
productiontechniques/characteristicsare you
employing?]
I want to set a dark/sombre tone at the beginning but
then have it lift throughout the film. I want to include a
few different graphics but it will match with what I am
showing on the video. I also want to focus on colour
grading because this is something that will be beneficial
in terms of portraying the mood of the scene
Why have you decided to makeyour project in this
style?
I havedecided tomake it as a video because this is what I
enjoy working in and it is what I am going to do at
university. I also like how I can incorporate different skills
such as sound and dialogue as well as visuals
