3. Peastache
Peastache is a 200 years old boy.
He loves nature and gardening.
He has a very cosy garden and he
sleeps there every night. He is a
Samaritan with a very sweet heart.
He never leaves his house without
his gardening tools. He always
finds a use for them as he loves to
help others.
4. Jolie
Jolie is a teen girl who is very
cheerful and loves any kind of fun.
She is studies time manipulation,
however she is not
allowed to do it yet. She loves
nature and flying around with the
sound of the wind. She usually
hangs up in the tree crows as she
can see the whole world from
there.
5. Skitt
Skitt is a 15 year old boy and he
absolutely loves skiing. It is his life and
if you can’t find him, he is probably
on some nearby slope. He is very
active but loves fun as
well. He goes to a lot of parties and
always makes sarcastic comments
that make everybody laugh. His
favourite sweets are skittles. He really
sees the world through the Skittles
glasses.
9. Our proposal
For our final project we have decided to make a stop frame animation
video. We really loved our first try and we would like to explore what
our possibilities are with this type of animation.
We want this animation to be in a full colour and we want to use
different techniques of stop frame animations.
For this animation we will use many different media.
Firstly, a camera will be needed to take pictures.
Secondly, we will use paper a media for execution of our story.
In the end we will surely use after effects to add any sounds and
texts and also to finalize the video.
10. Inspiration for our work
In this video, we really like, how they use the natural materials,
like pineapple, to represent the characters in the water. Also the
way they have used textile to make the tornado from the water.
It gave us a new idea about how many possibilities of different
usable materials we have and can consider using for our animation
so it is more interesting.
11. We found this animation very interesting for the use of the whiteboard
as the background. It is a nice way to animate something, especially
in a stop frame animation. If our paper cut outs will not work, we will
consider this as a possibility.
12. In this video, they used jelly beans to create a beautiful stop frame
animation in the background. We consider it a possibility to create
some effects on our story. Maybe a sky in the background.
13. This animation is a good example of how a classic stop frame
animation is combined with a use of computer. It gives us a nice
idea s what we can do in our own animation. There are also many
nice background settings.
14. How are we going to do it?
1. At first, we are going to make 2D coloured moving versions of our
characters
2. Secondly, we will prepare all the necessary cut outs for the animation.
3. Then we will prepare all the additional elements we will be using. For
example a textile, a snow…
4. We will also make a try out of how does everything works best together.
5. We will set the area for shooting, including the proper and correct light
setting.
6. We will make couple of trial shots to see how is everything working
together
7. We will do the animation shooting. We aim to make the whole
animation in
one whole day, as we do not want the light and colour changed, unless
it is
necessary of course.
8. When we finish the shooting, we will put the animation together and put
it into the After Effects where will we add sounds and some text. Not all
of our characters can talk, so the text can be limited.
9. Once its finish we will come up with some interesting packaging to
present it
10. And we are done!
15. The story
Peastache checks his garden before going to sleep
(there's like 4 flowers and in the shot u can see Jolie and
Skitt hiding in a bush )
Once he's asleep Jolie and Skitt begin to build the snow making machine
(a couple of shots showing the machine getting bigger with Jolie flying
parts around and Skitt securing them in place)
When Peastache wakes up the whole garden is full of snow around
4 medium size hills so he is super shocked ,while Jolie and Skitt are shown
playing and sliding and snowball fighting.
That night while the two are asleep thinking Pea is as well
Pea sneaks around and finds out the source of snow, determined to bring
summer back or just to get his garden back he grabs his tool and puts it
inside the pipe where the snow comes out from and goes to sleep
Suddenly they all hear an explosion which was caused by the pressure
built in the pipe.
Startled they all go to check and find that it was the machine that exploded
Peastache sees how sad the other are it wasn't his intention to make it
explode so they come to an agreement that he would build it again but
only if they played on only one half of the garden, the agreement is sealed
with a hand shake , Peastache builds the new machine and Jolie and
Skitt gift him with a new tool.
